I can't remember when I actually started work, but this always reminds me of standing on the parade ground one sat morning as a baby apprentice.

Never really heard much at work - I was driving around in a yellow van with no radio, it was only when I went in punter's, sorry, Subscriber's, houses did I get to hear what was on.  I vaguely recall it just being the end of the Chip Shop Boys being big.  I think the big hyped stuff - back in the days when soft drinks used to pay millions for a popstar to advertise them - were Madonna and Jacko.

Racking my brains, were late 80s a bit of a stagnant time - the 'classic' 80s music had passed, and the more dancy early 90s still wasn't mainstream...   ...leavign us with the likes of Rochford, Terence Trent Derby etc

...or was I too isolated from music, sat in my little van with no radio, and too messed-up of an evening out to notice?
