Title: When bureaucracy rules....
Post by: Nickbat on 03 June 2011, 22:25:31
A MASSIVE village litter pick has been binned after organisers were swamped by red tape.

We truly live in a mad country.  ::) ::) ::)

I doubt the villagers would have had that problem if the BBC were there filming it.

Probably a case of....'We have got your money....no way are we going to risk having to pay any out'.......
 >:( >:(

Soon won't be able to set foot outdoors >:(

They could have just done it anyway, or were they afraid that, if they injured themselves, no pay-out would be forthcoming?
If I decide to pick litter from the street at the entrance to my house, I don't ask for permission first. Not unless I'm planning to sue someone if I hurt myself.

Utter shite.

I couldn't agree more, we are wrapped up so much in cotton wool that pretty soon the common cold will be the equivalent of double pneumonia.

However as Varche says, we allowed it to happen so we only have ourselves to blame.

I don't see that 'we' created it. The beaurocrats created it....how were we supposed to stop it :)

Here is some beaurocracy...care of the fantastic UK NHS....

M-I-L (90) and disabled, felt bad a couple of days ago..Swmbo got doctor in last night. Thinks she has had a stroke :( Had she/we called the doctor straight away, she would have been ambulanced to Wycombe General (two miles away). Because she felt bad originally two days ago, she had to go to Stoke Mandeville (20 miles away) by own transport. >:(
After asking three receptionists where we had to go to the 'out of hours' surgery, we ended up in the back of beyond, after being given three different places to go to. Gave up and went back to main entrance, where things looked up when a porter collared us before we got to reception, said you are well away from the dept you want, so came in the car, told me to park at the front door on the ambulance drop off and said 'Stay there, no ambulances in today' :y
Two people in front of us....three hours later M-I-L was seen.....yes ...stroke. Needs a CT scan....where?...Wycombe General!!!!!!!!!
The people in the NHS might be lovelly....but the system stinks >:( >:( >:(

EDIT  I must just add that we were told that now she has been seen at Stoke Mandeville, if she feels bad again, she will be ambulanced to Wycombe General.....

I don't acknowledge the so called local authorities' authority on alot of things. Who they hell are they anyway? Penpushers sat in a sterile office with no idea how the real world works. They are only there to rubber stamp the decisions made by the people.

Did you see the dead whale on the beach on the news recently? There was a council guy stood on the promenade wearing the newest shiniest yellow hard hat you've ever seen! What's all that about? What does he think is going to happen? Is the whale going to get up and smack him round the head? Ludicrous, bring on the revolution!

Could have protested at the time they were putting the laws through parliament, only problem was that nobody had the gumption at the time.
Actually we could still object now, if you can find a big enough percentage of people who are actually prepared to stand up for themselves (good luck with that one) and ignore the fact that protests outside the houses of parliament are now illegal.

Unlikely, but they do explode with a fair amount of force when the gasses build up inside.

I think you have cracked it there...however...we would spend all year in London protesting, giving they seem to put through a rule/law every day ::) And would it make a difference....I think not :y

Yeah, I've heard about that, but not after a few hours or 1 day. Council robots

You don't know for sure until you do it, but if enough people got up and said "f*** you" then the government would have no choice but to listen.
After all, it's not like they can arrest and charge every last protester under one of the numerous new laws because we all know the justice (sic) system can't cope now.

theres a protest about something or other most days, trouble is, they only makes the news if it kicks off...unless its the same 12 muslims wandering around London being filmed and photographed by every right wing paper of course - they're good  ;D ;D

reduce several billion people down to a handful of nutters and show everyone thats what they're all like - genius  :y
