now I have never seen either "Human Centipede" or this "Human Centipede 2" but I'm pretty sure if I did wish to see it I should be allowed to, and if I didn't want to see it, I would simply....err.....not go and see it, misstep from the usually intelligent and sympathetic BBFC.
ps whether you think the film is garbage or not isn't the argument....I mean, the risible Sex in the City 2 got a wide release :o :o :o

Mary Whitehouse lives.... :-/

I thought the idea was to protect people (children) for the first 18 years of their lives .........and then as adults allow us to make our own decisions. Apparently not.

well, in effect, they're sying - we've viewed this film, and dont think the rest of you have the intelligence to distinguish reality from fantasy fiction and think a significant number of people will try to copy some of this stuff :o
to the best of my knowledge, no one has ever committed any acts of violence, brutality or murder because they "saw it in a film", oh, i know there are some high profile cases where the desperate lawyer with a highly disturbed and violent client tried to blame some horror film or other but its all utter hogwash - presumably if i watch enough football on tv i'll get a game for Barcelona with that argument ;D
-
it's not my thing but i would like to have the choice
as a 37 year old man i think i am capable of deciding what i will watch and dont need anyone to tell me.

ironically what'll now happen is this minor, cheap "shock" horror film will recieve notoriety way beyond its artistic merit and DVD's ripped off the 'net will henceforth be passed around every playgound in the country :o

A twin saw the original in HMV and I thought what a rubbish idea for a film.
An 11 year old should not have been able to grab a BD with a rather nasty cover.
Worst film I have had to put them off I have come across.
-
I have no issues with it being banned. Fortunately I didn't see the original when it was on Sky recently but my Sister-in-Law caught some of it and her description was sufficient for me to decide it's not really something I'd watch.
There are some things that are just not right ;)
At the end of the day, the Exorcist was banned for years ;)

Nanny knows best, now shut up and eat your dinner.

saw this on tv recently. couple of points 1)the guy who plays the "mad" doctor is genuinely wierd looking 2)the cinematography was good and the film well shot in a spartan/minimalist way but 3)the storyline was just pure daft as much as could be seen as sick (removing their teeth so he could stitch them face to buttocks)let alone unplauseable (wonder what happened when one of them wanted a p*ss or sh*t ;D) 4)whilst the acting of the 2 girls and the japanese feller was ok-the one girl in particular doing well in her attempt to take this tosh seriously and portray her characters pain-the 2 cops looked like they'd fallen out of an episode of "the proffessionals". Seriously, a pretty crap film all round if rather well filmed. You want to moan about "sick" films take a look at the more mainstream/big budget "saw" or "hostel" movies. As for the argument about movies leading some to replicate things in real life, well, aside from the fact that too many people in the past have not needed such stimulus to do the heinus crimes they have (think Himmler eg), is it not just a bit too much of a stretch? Did the Beatles really lead to the Manson slaughter? Can watching "Chuckey" really explain the actions of the murderers of Jamie Bulger? Some people have "weak" minds. Some people are "wired wrong" .Some people are just "evil".But MOST of us can tell the difference between good/bad and right/wrong and fantasy/reality so please let us make our own decisions about stuff.

Bang on the button there Jerry :y

Oh, flipin`heck: It`s a story!.........not to mine (or many other`s tastes) but simply a gory/horrific story.
-
Jack the Ripper was well able to mutilate women. Which video nasty was he watching in 1888 prior to the murders?
-
1888? he'd have access to the Old Testament - some of the sickest stuff ever committed to paper ;)
-
over 18 i want the choice myself to watch it, ive seen human cent 1, and i really want to see the next, i love gore, but then i work in the industry sometimes lol
-
Yes, impressive work by the BBFC :-* :-* - perhaps someone in authority would now like to turn their attention to the plethora of videos showing murder, humiliation and extreme sexual behaviour now available, without sanction or hindrance, on computer screens everywhere. :-?

I hope you're not referring to TB's collection of artistic tea pot movies? ;D ;D

The BD rip has been on the net for a short while already, all banning will achieve is to increase the crime rate in the UK through piracy because people will now naturally want to see it.
Yet another ill thought out concept by our so called leaders ::)
-
the director was on radio 5 live for an hour and he was absolutely delighted with the ban - he couldnt hide his glee :o
-
Big brother controls us yet again - you will watch what we want you to watch and nothing else!
Another part of our freedom taken away..... >:(

yep, no such thing as "bad" publicity-apart from the cases like those of Mr Giggs maybe ;D
