Title: Why carnt vx use the same type of bolts!?
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 02 June 2007, 20:58:15
When i did the omega front disks/pads.....i think they were hex bolts which i had the sockets in my socket set.....so no problem  :y

When i did my vectraC rear pads the other week.....i needed a 7mm allen key for the calipers.....my set of allen keys didnt have a 7mm one.....so had to go buy one  :(

Today i did the front pads on the veccyC (thought it was time....the big warning symbol on the display has been on a week).......guess what......those calipers are held together with T60 torx bolts  :( .....obviously didnt have one......so had to buy one.....and Halfords dont sell (or didnt have in stock anyway) any T60 drivers 3/8" ....they only had T60 1/2" and guess again what.....i dont have a 1/2" rachet (only got a 3/8" and 1/4").....so had to buy one of those as well  :(

Im changing the pads on the VeccyB tomorrow morning......i wonder what sort of bolts vx have used for that......and im having a good guess I be visiting Halfords again in the morning  :-/

Why carnt vx just use hex bolts everywhere?! It would make life a lot easier  ::)
