Title: Project Cars - FAO Tunnie?
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 02 June 2007, 22:08:48
Now the Elite is all sorted and legally roadworthy (bar the tiny jobs)... I need a project.

Not a project for me, but a money spinner or two, over the summer.

I've had a good look on fleabay, and the most profitable project I can think of, is a Rover 200 bubble shape, or a Rover 400, with a K series engine, and a head gasket failure. An easy days work, and only a few quid in parts to repair, and uncle Bob's your Auntie... I bought an R reg Rover 416 with 60k on the clock for £300 with HGF... sold it for a grand once I repaired it !!!

Anyone know of any other cars that are easily profitable?

Tunnie.. remember you said you fancied making some cash like me. How do you feel, in just over a couple of weeks time maybe, going halves on a project car, fixing it up, and then reaping the profit £££££££ ?? ;D

I'd suggest fixing that LPG kit and putting it on the GLS and stick it on Auto Trader for £1000

Well apart from K head gaskets, and Omega oil coolers, I can't think of too many money makers. So look for late pre facelifts very cheap.

Oh and autobox swaps

wish I had the times and funds!

The Europe trip has taken most of my spare cash  :'( - Not going to have anything left for project i am afraid!  >:(

Time is an issue too.... I am solid busy until first week in July...

Tuesday leave for Milan, Friday get back. Friday off to the Lakes meet, back Sunday. Tuesday to Thursday my project is in london (its also been nominated for an award!  :D) Then i got to move out of Uni.... then i might have some free time.

I'd love to get stuck into a project m8, but have no time at the moment. Its a shame cause i know of a  HGF on a 2001 Freelander which maybe up for sale, big bucks in that.

If you find a way of selling Freelanders, promise to put ClarCE out of his misery and let him in on the secret ;)

completely agree - good old Rover HGF and v6 oil coolers.

Rover 200, 400, and 25, 45`s. and V6 vectra / omegas.

Done 3 head fixes on the rovers for "substantial" profit myself  :y
