TB and I changed the bushes on his Elite on Saturday morning.
Due to the weather conditions, I decided it was best to use one of the sheds at the heritage centre.
Whilst there, TB spotted something he rather liked so I grabbed a picture of him 'having a moment'.

It turns out he rather likes dumpers ;D

Was he making "brmm brmm" engine noises ? ::) :D ;D ;D
-
Thwaites? 8-)
-
Only noises I heard were strange mumblings about 'Thwaites' and 'to many cylinders'
-
Thwaites? 8-)
Benford :y

Benford :y
Close but no cigar. Done a bit of dumper driving in the past.
Was the gear lever between his legs? ::)
-
Yes, reverse box setup.....uber quick in third to!
-
I see a new tractor project in the making....plenty of low down torque for towing...????? ::)
-
I came over all unnecessary. Sadly not my ideal - that would be a single cylinder Thwaites. But I did get all excited with that 3 cylinder Benford... ...I had to go for a cold shower ;D
There is so much interesting stuff in and around there - just don't get talking to the model train lot though - there is something to excite anyone.
I believe Mr DTMs soft spot is for his little tractor that he has been lovingly restoring :y

Let your anorack interests free, share them with us we love it...well some of us do! I love my old classic cars & spend to much time & money "getting out a bit more" to meets etc. I go to Toyfairs buying/selling old Corgi/Dinky/matchbox diecast...only the ones old that were meant as toys not new display models. I'#d love an old tractor to show at steam rallies with my Cortina...when i sleep in my caravan but can't afford one...still drool over the others though. Reckon alot of it's down to nostalgia which is no bad thing. 8-)
If that makes me an anorack then fine, i love it!!! 8-)

So that's what TB looks like.
Not what I imagined, somehow.
Not that I often imagine TB, you understand!

I bet he was rocking gently back & forth, dribbling slightly from one corner of the mouth while the dumper went Dugga dugga dugga!!!!
I've met him (too) many times. Despite hating caravans he's quite a pleasant chap really, albeit a quiz cheat!!! ;D

maybe Ill post my collection of old matchbox cars from the 60s and early 70s ,all kept lovingly in their plastic "75" carrycase . You'll know the one, with the classic Iso Griffo on the front :y SWMBO has banished them to cupboard along with my coin collection (mostly late Victorian to preDecimal) and the cigarette cards I inherited from my late Grandad. See, I too am an anorack!(tho the better half just thinks its "hording" ;D)

Get your you`re coat! ;D
Dumper trucks and diesel diaphragm-pumps were the sound-track to my early life walking to prep. school.......there was always the chug-a-chug of a sooty, pepper-pot exhausts barking and coughing out at ear level: quite scary when one is a just a lonely li`l tiddler.......not to mention the teasing, street repair gangs in their bib and brace overalls, string vests and knotted-hankies. :-[

How can I ever cheat at the quiz? I never take part, as I set the questions ;D

I,ll have to get a photo of the dumper at my mates farm for him then. Cant remember the make but its 3 cylinder air cooled with the reverse gearbox and does fly in third even with 5 ton in the bucket

If you want some real fun and slightly more than 3T of carrying ability then you should try one of these:
Without the extra armour on she'll do 45 on roads, and trust me even though it's one of the smallest AFVs we have everyone gets out of your way ;D ;D
But be careful following one as they can go from 45-0 in about 2-3 times it's own length prompting it to 'stand-up' on it's front and the car behind to slid underneath.....
I have had one slightly airbourne and managed a huge power-slide in another both accidentally of course ::)
