Hello, just want to know which tyres do you prefer in snow (for driving not sliding). I'm interested in Vredestein snowtrac3 but don't know how will they drive on rwd. It can be very snowy in my country sometimes and should I put some weight in the trunk like I used to do in BMW? You guys have more experiences with omega so please any advice? Thanks

using goodyear ug7+ for long time and well pleased with them on snow.. if you can find ug500 (I used on rears) , they are much better on ice..but not for high speed..

Thanks, having vredestein ultrac cento fitted now I'm impressed, quiet, good grip and incredibly "sticky" on rain I wanted to try winter Vred. What about "old school weight added at the back" ?

and sometimes tc off also helps.. (if you are stuck)( and if you are using winter tires)
ps: and definitely narrow profiles like 205 or 215..

I got some Nockian winter plus tyres for last year and certainly noticed the difference, but yes, putting some weight in the boot must be standard practice for rwd. Mines an auto so I found the "snowflake" button useful too when starting off :y

No tc in my miggy ....but will definetely put 4 bags (100kg) of children play sand at the back to get some grip (and reuse that in the summer for kids to play)

Have 205/55/16 on omega , but had some strange winter tyres fitted when I bought it....in a small hill stopped and not going anywhere in snow. I mean really small uphill :-/

I've used Wintrac's - good winter tyre although not had any snow experience with them (don't have the car now) - but good wet weather and general straight line stability. They look like they'll dig in well in snow too. Vredesteins usually do well in comparison tests too although not many places will actually keep stock so will need to order them. I did try Quadtracs once - not good - they squirmed like a real squirmy thing ....

If I remember Quatdtrack is all season tyre, a kind of universal tyre, none is. Like I said, I llike ultrac cento but it's surely not a tyre for snow. Usually in my country all drive Sava tyres (home brand) but they are too rough on the road and tend to slip in rain too much.

uphill, if it was even a bit icy, snow tires may not be adequate , you will need studded tires I'm afraid.. :-/

Studded would :y but not legal where I live. :'(

I bought some part worn 205 55 16 Continental Winter Contact TS810 tyres off ebay recently, not tried them yet.
But all the reviews say they're very good.

Have Wintracs to use this winter - thought I'd try them first. Be interesting to see how they behave........................ ::)
