A job for Tunnie perhaps...?

Certainly other forums have an app.  .....  And the buttons on OOF are currently especially small.

Suspect it may be a bit "gay" though  ;D

TBH, the LPG forum I'm a member of has a smartphone/iPhone/Android compatible format and I prefer to just use the standard site ;) ;) ;)

I certainty find browsing the forum fine through the iPhones browser, but an App would be interesting!

I'm tempted to have a bash at making one!

I've finally convinced my boss I need a MacBook Pro  :D - So could be very do-able  :)

Chris, you tried Sky News for iPad?

Looks like OOF runs on the only forum software where its not an easy plug in!  :(

An app wouldn't be possible, as it would have to look like a browser to the site, and the site would fire back HTML, laced heavily (esp in next software drop) with ajax and javascript. So the app would be, err, just like a browser.

Given that both gayPhone and Android have pretty usable browser options, its not worth the effort for the small number who use those options (and our stats say it is only a handful)

The technology is not the problem, its the content. Its every bit as shite as the BBC, only interlaced with even more (is that possible) tedious bits.

Nah, much prefer the sky app, time line / top stories option is good, like the exploded related stories when time line story selected. Can't blame either for the stories available surely? If you like apps at all that is. Picture quality on both apps is excellent on IPad.

Anyway, an OOF app would remove some of the bugs on here for that device I presume?
Page jumping(iPad only when selecting new post in the right hand column :-? ), small page buttons( why are they so small anyway?), hints covering buttons on the reply page.

Only way I could see it working is maybe a Web App wrap?  :-/ Then use something to package it to being native. It would be just like a browser, but I've never experienced this jumping issue on Safari  :-/

The content is far more important than the controls/signatures etc.

Its designed for Firefox on a standard sized PC screen. Rightly or wrongly is a seperate debate, but thats the way it is.

Its a safari (and a handful of others) issue. Replicatable.

We try to work around it when we create news items, partly thats the reason the news doesn't change much

You need Mr Job's personal permission to view any specific webpage

Nail  on  head!

Although unless using a mouse small page numbers bound to be a fiddle I would think? Safari copes well using a finger on a small screen, but still fussy. Stylus still dodgy on other devices. Joy pad guided mouse on n95 struggled also.

Or, are web pages too pc biased ?  That day is coming IMO.

When I was admin over on ROC we were bugged and bugged and bugged by the members to add 'Tapatalk' - an iOS/droid app that sort of syndicates forums, gives you 'push' notifications of replies etc etc.

After I left they caved and added it; now the place is filled with posts that end with "Posted with Tapatalk from my iPhone!" because it adds that on the end of every post by default.. bugs the living crap out of me.

Not that Tapatalk has a module for Yabb anyway, so you're safe it seems..

I have a pink razor and i'm in desperate need of a new phone.
Unfortunately, my two year contract with AT&T is not quite up yet.
I don't know if I can wait any longer for a new phone.
So, what I would like to know is this.
