does anyone use one for automotive fault testing.
im assuming most are pc based.
if so what spec and where from?
-
Sorry. Very old 20MHz dual-channel Grundig.
-
I think the current count is 7. :-[
Spec is really not that important for automotive use as the signals are really slow. In fact, a PC based / handheld digital 'scope is probably a better bet than a traditional analogue CRO as digital storage allows you to capture cranking current / volts and crank sensor output, etc.

I have a 1950 something scope with the round screen. Should really be ina museum, but if anyone want it they can have it.

Stick it in "The Room"...
Mrs KW has shoes and Handbags... You have oscilloscopes :y :y

Old oscilloscopes never die.
They just disappear without a trace!
Tee Hee!

I think you should slope off now

This thread has triggered some pretty poor jokes which we should have swept under the carpet. Too late now. It's gone down the tube. We've completely lost our focus. ::)
-
Also appears that some of the 'timing' is out as well!! ;D ;D
-
Some people seem to be a bit AC/DC about this, and seem to keep persisting on.
Perhaps the thread should be put in storage.

Flooded with replies I see, its time to hold off on some of these poorly sync'd puns.
As for scopes on cars, be very careful (particularly with PC based ones) as the voltage spikes are a bit hairy!
-
thanks for the replies.
i can see picking out a suitable purchase is going to have its ups and downs..
-
i hope you trace a suitable purchase :y
