Title: Oil question

So which is the best oil for making tasty chips  :-/

I usually use veggie oil, but have tried rapeseed oil before...

I use Flora or similar sunflower oil. :y

We're recent converts to rapeseed oil. Not tried chips yet. (don't have a chip pan, sadly. :()

Excellent for clearing the arteries out.... ::) ::) The  tried and tested method for preventing heart problems in Scotland. Honest. ::) ::) :y

i use sunflower oil for chips and use worcester sauce and a teaspoon of oil for frying bacon and sausages.  ;)

I've used it instead of vinigar on food for years  :y

Neither do i, but i do have a stainless steel casserole dish that i use, it also doubles up for boiling 30-40 eggs at a time, when im brewing up some pickled eggs.   :)  Which incidently i have made a batch of pickled eggs this week, in time for the Newent meet  :y

I've also made another 'dish' which is pickling in something that maybe a tad alcoholic  ::) ;) which i shall bring to Newent as well  :y

Also good for weight loss - everybody knows constant dripping wears away a stone!
