I have seen some muck in PCs, worst is definitely from a smokers house where the tar builds up on the components.
Not found any creepy crawleys so far
-
Found some stuff in them over the years.
Hoovered out one about 3hrs ago ::)

When I say hoovered, I actually meant took it outside and used a compressor ::)

those pc's can easily start fire in home..

Only last week. It was every bit as full if not more of dust. Even took the power supply to bits and was surprised to find a fan in there. Spain really is the dustiest place in the world. :y (Not many bugs though)

When did you clean out your lappy's heat exchanger? It's amazing the amount of fluff that builds up on them, usually only noticed when it starts to overheat and shut down "for no reason".
-
My lappy has been shutting down for no reason since I got it, usually after its been running for quite a while. Presumably overheating. Its a refurb jobby, so maybe someone forgot to hoover it out during the refurb. :-/
-
You'll probably find a carpet of fluff wrapped around the heat exchanger Albs.
I usually take the heatsink/fan assembly out and attack it with the compressor then renew the heat sink compound when I put it back.
-
Nope, sorry - youve lost me. :-[ ::) ;D ;D
-
Some like this acer are a piece of cake, take off the memory/cpu cover and unscrew the heat sink unit. Did a tosh the other month that needed virtually stripping to the motherboard to get the fan out. It depends how it's been designed. If you want to try it have a google around for a service manual for your lappy, that should give you a clue how it comes to bits.
-
Mines an Acer, but I havent got a clue what your talking about.
I do work with some very clever people though - in the realm of electrickery, so I will see if one of them will have a look at it for me. :y

Back when I used to repair PCs for a living we had a few customers where precisely that happened..
The best was probably the local Rover dealer (where all our company cars came from, and who tried to kill me with a dodgy Metro, but that's another story) - the PC in question was rammed up against a perspex window between the office and the service bays.. the exploding PSU burnt a nice hole clean through the perspex ;D
Mind we also had a newspaper depot as our customer - their PCs weren't so much the problem as the (dot matrix) printers. The place was covered in thick paper dust and we had to go out every month and hoover the printers out, otherwise the heads would end up getting stuck.. The only thing I can compare the paper dust to is a thick layer of dry cement, horrible stuff.

lovely! :o

Don't think Hoovers work 100%.
My air compressor sure does though....amazing how quick those fans fly round with compressor air aimed at them....PC looks like new afterwards though !

Can't get my vacuum cleaner in my tower :-? ;)
