damn it, good and bad news on the new toy, after completing a full thorough service on every part of the quad including removing the body work to get to everything possible, doing complete engine service and setting valve clearances, regreasing wheel bearings, brakes, serviced chain etc etc
I went to start it, ran for 3 seconds and cut dead, after 2 hours rechecking everything i had done, i went back to basics!! guess what?
bloody coil pack has gone open circuit! Grrr
ok anyone know where i can find a Denso 120700 coil pack apart from a dealers!!
they have to order it here can take up to 2 months :o
and the price is eyewatering to say the least,
failing that any electronic experts know whether or not a different coil would affect the ecu? am assuming of course that the ecu swithces the coil here, it may not!! lol :y

basically all coils are transformators.. if it doesnt include some checking elements, another coil pack giving the same voltage and frequency why not..
waiting to be shut down in flames ;D

Doh, when I read the other post in general chat I thought you meant one of these http://www.rotorworld.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=583:flight-test-thunder-tiger-raptor-90-3d&catid=136:9 . :-[ :-[

Bit more to it than that as its based around a set amount of iron which effectively stores magnetic energy. release the current and the back EMF is 'transformed' to 10's of KV.
Get the wrong inductance, resitance, ratio, iron content and it wont match the electronic drive circuitry.....

thats what i was worried about!! remember fiesta,s a few years ago, had terrible starting problems, would start immediately with a tow but not on the key, turns out replacement starter motor were wrong and interfered with the management system!!!
