Title: Stop press ! Beer isn't food.

Blimey the Russians have declared beer isn't a food but is actually alcohol. I hope the Spanish don't find out or else Rioja might not be a food anymore but called alcohol. Whatever next? ;D ;D ;D

It has to be food as it contains hops and stuff. Thats the way i look at it anyway lol!!

Ah shucks, need to rethink my diet then...  (diet as in what I eat - I'm far to fat to go on a diet)

Well, I toured a brewery last week  [smiley=beer.gif] and they said that since they are making a food product there are certain health and safety requirements, etc...

..and they make it from grain and hops. Clearly food. :y

Who cares as long as it contains some goodness and does not cause wear and tear on the teeth?

I used to work for a microbrewery and thats how i justify my comment lol.
I was always told Guinness was good for you but i can only drink it with a dash of port (my nan was exactly the same!)

It's a more-or-less acceptable substitute if you can't find proper beer food, I suppose. ;)
