Post by: Proz on 26 July 2011, 11:11:52
Anyone had any dealings with this company .
Never heard of them before but they came lowest quote on " go compare ".
Tried phoning but was held in a que and couldnt be bothered waiting after 5 mins .
Seems to tick all the boxes but want to talk to them first .
Fully comp £259 including ,
 RAC roadside assistance
 Legal cover
 Free key locator service
 Protected No Claims Bonus
 Courtesy car, subject to availability
 Unlimited windscreen cover
 £150 personal belongings cover
 £750 manufacturer's audio cover
 90 days free EU cover

Courtesy car subject to availability seems the only down side  :-/

Never heard of them sorry. But something I have started to do with car insurance companies is to phone the claim line phone number. I do this to see what country answers the phone !! Because the only real time you will need to talk to them is when you are claiming/reporting an accident. And frankly I want to speak to human being speaking English.

Do not ring sales as that is often staffed by UK staff but claims is not.

Always check the amount of excess payable whenever anyone offer you what looks like cheap insurance.

There may be three different types.

Fire and Theft Excess (Applies to Fire and theft claims only)

Compulsory Accidental damage Excess ( Can vary with age, driving experience and type of car)

Voluntary Excess - Often policies are made cheap by including a "voluntary" excess for which you get a discount. Sometimes these excesses can be HUGE in order to make the premium look cheap. Watch out.

Voluntary excess £100 Compulsory excess £100 and £75 for windscreen ... but thanks i'll look into that a bit more carefully  :y

Insurer: Hello this is bloggs insurance claims how can i help
Me: hello i think i may have dialled the wrong number i was trying to contact your sales dept.
insurer: no problem sir I will transfer you to sales= call centre in UK (generally)
insurer: i understand sir the number you require is xxxxxxetc. and they may try to transfer the call but it will take them a while to complete the transfer.

Then just hang up during the transfer, or if you really want to carry on and see what voices you get.

I have nothing against overseas call centres but with insurance I am likely to be stressed/mad with rage etc. and hopefully and UK person will understand that a little bit and give a little leeway. Overseas call centres staff reading from a sheet, cannot or are not allowed to be human to callers.

The worst example is I have come accross recently is the BT broadband call centre in some far off land.

Me: Hello I have made a mistake on my broadband order and wish to change it to the fibre optic broadband.
Call Centre: that is not possible sir, you will have to have the ordinary broadband fitted and then upgrade to fibre optic.
Me: I know I made the mistake but is there know way to remedy this before it starts
Call centre: No sir.

It took days to get this sorted and resulted in no home broadband for 7 days.
