Post by: Bionic on 27 July 2011, 11:34:57
Hads anyone noticed in their locallity that the flying ants this year seem to be larger than usual and that there are many more of them?
They taste lousy too according to the local gossip who is forever moaning about something! :)

There was an interesting report about flying ants on the radio last week... They wait for the perfect weather conditions and then come out to fly off and find a mate, then loose their wings. Normally only lasts about 24 hours but if that perfect day doesn't occur it may last longer

Seagulls will disagree they love em. You can always tell when the flying ants are about by the amount of seagulls circling high up in the sky eating the buggers

Haven't seen any this year so far. No wasps to speak of, and the bees we had earlier in the season seem to have disappeared too.

We were promised a plague of ladybirds but none of them either.

If he did that Steve they would have hit him "mob handed" and he would have been stung alot more than once  :o
