Large piles of fine earth are turning up all over my garden. Each pile would be large enough to fill a bucket.
As we are pretty rural, my first thoughts were fox.....badger.... mole....stoat....etc ..etc.
However, when I clear away these large piles of earth I'm surprised to find that the grass beneath is completely undisturbed. No hole or disruption of any kind.
Where are these large amounts of soil coming from?.....I've checked the rest of our land and can find no evidence of soil having been moved from a different place.
Any ideas?
One for Scully and Mulder methinks. My money is on extraterrestrial's. ;)
The truth is out there. :y

Probably a mole, try poking the grass under the soil with a stick (to check for soft bits and tunnels) as often, once its moved there is little or no sign of any damage at all.
And they shift a hell of a lot of soil!

You live in Lincolnshire, it will be some sort of midnight religious rite.

We have found evidence of moles before. But the piles of earth were nothing like as large as we now have.
Can a mole grow to four feet in length?... :)

have you got any security cameras or even a webcam that you could set motion detection software on to see what is happening?
