Our cat has just crapped himself in his cat box during a trip to the vets....
Question is do I..
1. Wash his paws in the sink and then apply huge amounts of plasters to myself,
2. Go the whole hog and attempt to bath him, thus taking the risk of having to buy a new bath,
3. As per Jimbobs suggestion: tip shampoo into the bog, insert cat, close lid and flush. Then open front door, lift lid and stand well back?
Any tips on how to wash a cat anyone? ;D ;D ;D

How to Wash the Cat...
1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add some pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power-wash and rinse".
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the bog and the cat will be sparkling clean.

The theory is to put the cat in a bag/pillow case tied around the cat's neck & wash the cat through the bag. In practice however ......................... ;D ;D ;D

I have some leather welding gloves and still have the scars from a tomcat that bit and clawed its way (easily) through them. That reminds me , must paint the room and cover up the bloodstains on the wall............ :'( :'(i

Tempting though the bog was, the sink won!
Not convinced he's any cleaner but he's certainly more p'd off....No blood either! :y

Now that takes 3 of us and I think we all came away bleeding!
He's not long finished a course of meds that had to be syringed in which none of us enjoyed too much! Dont know what was in it but it's permanently marked the fire back, it's eaten into the coating. :(

Still not too late if it's the latter. :D

I am not bad at 'washing cats', quite a few of them around by me have had a rinse in the water butt. It still amazes me as to how large an area a cat covers when in 'starfish' mode!

Makes me think. Put it back in the cage and give it a dunk. Two birds with one stone. Cat clean. Cage clean. Job done. :y

He did make a very impressive 'starfish', poor cat has now done a runner and is refusing to come in! :(
We never thought of dunking cat, in catbox into the pond. That would have worked! :y

Put cat in cage, tie to roof bars then drive through car wash.
Car gets cleaned as a bonus. ;D ;D
