Dog...not car, Kevin.
I'm going to have a look at one in the morning and it's a long time since I had to look after a doggie.
-
I was going to say they use a Labrador for the blind don't they..... ;D
;D Sorry, couldn't resist ::) :y
Some guide dogs are labradors, but fail to see the relevance. :-/

Don't worry ST, Humour is an individual thing, perhaps a statement I shouldn't of made having thought about it now, as you could of taken it personally.... Apologises :-[
-
We've had 3 of them, 2 bitches & 1 dog. Lovely little creatures all of em had their own personality. Cassie our latest is 14yrs old & still goin strong. The two others lived to the grand old ages of 16yrs for the dog called Crackers (Don't ask!!!!) and Suzie 17yrs.

Then I may have to ask for some advice in the near future Jason. I've only ever had mongrels and that was when I was younger. They didn't take much looking after, kick 'em out in the morning and let 'em back in at night. ;D

No worries, I don't take things personally. Just didn't get it. Old and grumpy does not equate to being blind. If you want to try humour, a good start is to say something funny. ;D

Yeah, sure mate no probs.
Our 3, 1st from a breeder, was an absolute doll. Lovely temperment, wouldn't say boo to a goose so loveable.
2nd. (The male) was a rescue from kennels. Originally mass bred & had a screw (or 2) loose. You could definately tell with his temperment. Wouldn't trust the old git as far as I could throw the Miggy. On the other hand he did severly savage wouldbe burglar's foot, who decided to try to break into our house ;D ;D ;D He was a lovely old rogue with a really bad attitude but we loved him to bits.
3rd Cassie - again from a breeder and had since a pup cost £550. She is a great, great, great, great grand-daughter to the one that won crufts ages ago. She has a lovely temperment and lets my nephews maul her to death.
Only problems we've ever had with all of them is that they are proned to skin infections and / or rashes. Something to do with em being very light skinned. Cracker - was allergic to plastic and he'd break out in blotches for eg. all over.
All three are / were great fun, they're inteligent comical and good as a companion. BUT (always a but) get one from a reputable breeder, with paperwork. I have heard several horror stories from people who bought from these so called "Puppy Farms" who ended up heartbroken. We were quite lucky with Cracker really, he'd no papers and came from a well known so called 'breeder' NOT!

Me Mum has owned two. Loves them, very friendly. Bit yappy, and a tendency to run away. But otherwise lovely dogs. Good companions. :y
Oh, being a terrier has it's own sides. Like rolling in sheep shit, chasing sheep. Biting sheep. Bit protective too. But always friendly once they accept you as part of the pack. So look out. ;D
-
I have a 2 year old westie, it hates my 5 yr old daughter & has bitten her 2 or 3 times >:(. maybe just ours, but i wouldnt have one around kids tbh.
-
That's a shame TRB, I wouldn't say that's not usual with the bread, but can never be too carefull obviously.

We picked her up on Tuesday, the wife has named her Poppy (more like Poopy) ::). She is an adorable little thing, only nine weeks old but sharp as a tack.

We have had her for a week now, seems like much longer. In that time she has been picked up in Hull, travelled to Wakefield, then a 5 hour trip to Wales and has been on the beach every day. She has been no trouble at all and I don't know why I resisted for so long.
