What? to throw bits of my old ebginbe at? I wouldn't buy anything of this crowd. Read the description. Smooth engine and siuezed. Which is it?

There were two Omegas at Derby auctions today. a 2002/52 CD 2.6 and a 2002/02 3.2 ELITE. No idea what they went for, bithy nice but now I have too may on the go once again. Something has to go first. Starting with that LPG project, then my Corsa now it passed its MoT this morning! :) Might be buying a 2006 Fiesta TDCi Ghia for the school car. Looks nice, waiting for negociations......

Seriously guys, what's this seized Meega worth to buy in this state -

And what's it worth when running sweet?

How much of a headache would it be to fit a post 98 3.0 instead of the 2.6, or failing that, how much would a 2.6 engine be

Could be a snapped cambelt, would 2.5 heads fit a 2.6?

Even allowing for any reputation this seller might or might not have, if the money is right at auction end it doesn't look such a bad car. You could always put a full sized replacement engine in instead!  ;)  :y

You'd need a way to replace the throttle cable with electric string.

This car has the responsive 2.6 litre V6 engine; this engine is fantastic and is very responsive; the test drive went perfectly this really is a lovely car to dive and the engine to have.

how the heck did they drive it................

I think the heads would fit but its just a company that leaves a bad taste - looking at it objectivley your probably correct James  ;)

I smell a rat. As you say the text is a load of manure cos it's kinda difficult to test drive a car with a siezed engine. Interior picture shows a dash with the same mileage as listed, however, the instruments show it purring like a kitten at 500 RPM. Oh, and a SAFE stereo.

Did it sieze between him doing the road test and taking the pictures and listing it on ebay?

It'd make a nice car when fixed but I'm not sure...  :-/

I gather that this seller has a reputatation, and has changed his eBAy name. Is there anything to incriminate him or is it just hear say? HAs anyone had a bad experiance in buying or selling a car from/to him?

2.6 heads are the same as later 2.5 heads (98 onwards) and 3.2 heads are the same as 3.0 heads (98 onwards).....the 98 bit is due to the addition of some tapped holes for the coil pack mounts.

It has leather (sell it), Xenons (post to Worcester), engine parts (send plenum and inlet manifold to Worcester), Auto box, CD Changer for the F/L GLS owners.

Worth it in bits, I'd like the front bumper and the door mirror.

Sterling Cars or whatever their name is, are not a company I like.
Classic example of what patter and nice photos can achieve.

The car, when working fully, would be worth £3.5k.

A new engine is £1,400 ish (I think) from Vx.

However, 83k makes me think cambelt gone.

I agree....theres no service history with it so chances are poorly maintained.
