Anyone ever suffered from one of these?
Felt a bit rough last night, woke up this morning to have a CT scan.
It's the most painful, uncomfortable thing i can ever recall.
-
I hav'nt but a friend who has says passing them was the worst thing ever. He's ok now though so best wishes & sympathies. :'(
-
Yup, they are a sod, only ever suffered from one, hopefully never again.
Was torture - for about 10 days IIRC. :-/
-
It's painful but better for you if you can pass it yourself.
I had a friend who had one wedged at some point in his tract and it had to be blasted to break it up small enough to pass, he was ill with the pain.
Fingers crossed it won't be bad for you, what did the scan show?
-
Oooh, best of luck with this James. :(
-
I may have done...twice.
Not pleasant at all.
despite ultra sound, CT scans....and cameras going where no camera should EVER go...they could prove nothing.
All the best with it.
-
my mother had to have hers cut out in the 70s, painful operation it was too. my sister has had them twice and each time made her very ill.each time she didnt pass them as too big but had them laser blasted into powder but once done back to normal. good luck james

Yup I had mine from October to Feb a few years back and the bugger wouldn't shift. Rushed to hospital a few times as my temp went through the roof.
They were all set to ultrasonic it but the pain became too much and they ended up lasering it.
You need to drink plenty of fluids in high acidity, so pickled onions and avoid dark green veg, brussel sprouts, cucumber with skin on and minimise your calcium intake, so cut back on milk, cheese etc for a while :y

Never had them, but I'll swap your (no doubt painful) kidney stones for a stage 4 cancer if you like? ;D
-
My brother had a kidney stone a few years back, he woke up one morning and was doubled up and crying in pain - required a hospital stay until he was able to pass it :(

Ljay, scan showed no stone, but evidence one had just passed. Hopefully its just a healing process now :)

Fingers crossed, they can cause tearing as they pass so hopefully it is just that healing process going on. At least the scan was clear for you.

It certainly gives you a different outlook on life James, all the best for a speedy recovery :y

last year I dropped 2 and collected them..
try to keep it and have it analysed.. mine was calcium oxalate , which can repeat itself.. so I give up for foods that contain high oxalate .. unfortunately list is too long.. carrots, strawberries, grapes etc etc nearly all vegetables that stem from ground.. also high urine producing meat .. >:(
have it checked and take a diet list .. or you may suffer again.. and drink water as much as possible..
hot water bath will relax you so you can drop easily.. :y

My mate had one..... Had a wank and shot the cat..... ;D ;D ;D
Just bear it in mind James :o :o :o Get well soon :y :y :y
