Looks like I will be getting a new car in 4-6 weeks so thought I'd have a look see what my Omega would be worth second hand. I've looked at a lot of web sites and cant find anything for sale even approaching this kind of mileage.
So is this an unusual mileage to reach ? there must be plenty of cars out there with high miles as mines reached this point without any real dramas.
Is there a market for high milers somewhere that I've missed or is it just a case of whack it on ebay with a start price of £300 and see if anyone bites ? I wanted to see what others are fetching so I can pitch it for sale at the right level but mine seems to be alone in the high miles for sale club !

Put it on with a start price of 99p and then you may get one of the lads buy it off you so they can sell the bits, and you mite even get your £300. I only paid just over that for a 2.6 elite on a 02 plate in june with134K on it and got 50% of that back when they came to take the body away :y.

My Elite has done 194k!

Mine has 170 000 :)

Migs can do MASSIVE miles if looked after but sadly does lower the value.
I'd say yours is just about run in now but sadly not worth much which is a shame given how well they run. 8-)

Chuck it in Autotrader first ;)
My '99 saloon with 177k (IIRC) sold for £800, although it was LPG converted ;)

Ah but mines got a bit of rust on the n/s rear wheelarch and a bubble above the windscreen. High mileage and rust is a killer on the value.
-
mines been dormant for 10 months now :( :( :(

Maybe a price of £495-595 or best offer. I like the best offer feature on Ebay. Will still be amongst the cheapest and should attract a fair amount of interest.

Mine had rust staring to bubble on all 4 doors and the rear arch ;)
Unfortunately I'd just decided I wanted to keep it as a spare car... But I got full asking price :y :y

personally, I would even consider buying a car until it's done over 100K

In some ways i agree. Bought my car in september last year with only 40000 miles. now covered 46000 and i have changed most of the more major items which would have normally have been done on a 100K+ car. alot of low mileage cars see too little work as they go on mileage and not the age aswell. Mine had a full vauxhall history but i have spent approx £700 with Elite pete getting the common issues sorted.

Ive got a 2000 black 3.0 MV6 estate on 255k still runs sweet as ever.

cool to hear that these motors run for ever, got loads left in the girl yet then with only 57k on the clock.my other car the astra has 180k and still never misses a beat and sails through the mot's apart from the odd tyre. :)

I bought it with 70k on, planning to keep for 3 years. 4 years and 103k miles on I wouldnt be considering letting it go now it if wasnt for the tin worm.
The only good news is that I am replacing the miggy with an S type jag with a 4.2l V8 :)

Nice that you're replacing it with a V8... But I can't stand the look of the s type and would have to get a XJ
Or better still... A XJR :y :y :y
