Watching the news this morning it was hard not to take note of the comments made in relation to the various 'assetts' which were being used in the attempt to regain some form of order. What was particularly annnoying was the manner in which the police were praised with their bravery (they were all wearing body armour, riot helmets, shields and masks) time and time again yet not one use of the word bravery was used to describe the fire fighters and ambulance crews who wore none and yet were in the same environment! Sickening...that is the only term I can use and it is time the other services received the same praise and recognition as the police. Comes to it the police are also more highly paid into the bargain.
Where is ther fairness in that? No fault can be directed to the present government either because this rot started with Blair and his useless crew over a period of nigh on 14 years. It was they who brought in the Human Rights Act and also began to give holidays as punishment for the youths who broke the laws of this country 'because they had a rough upbringing, were from a broken home or had been abused etc'. Guess what is going to happoen when any of them are finally brought into court? Yep.....free holidays and perks but no hard jail time! No fines though cos they need the money for booze and fags etc. Bring back the birch and flog them publicly...or put them in a set of stocks on the local parks so people can show them just what they think. Sod their human rights when they rob us of ours and it will be us that have to pay for their actions.
Society is now reaping the crop it has sown from its bad seed!
Out will come the usual lying waffle of 'lessons have been learned'. ;)
Will any lessons be learned? ;D ;D ;D ;D ; No way :D

I am afraid we are too far down the 'softly softly' aproach.
Perhaps we should open new Youth Clubs for them to sell the gear in! >:(
The word 'respect' to the rioters is a word that doesn't exist in their vocabulary :'(
Unfortunately the losers will once again be us with higher insurance to pay for it all!
-
Whilst I agree whole heartedly with the comments about the fire and ambulance crews you must bear in mind that not all of the police were in riot gear... Only the front line of them were. If you watch the footage from during the day time there was a line in riot gear, followed by almost half as many again in stab vests and shirt sleeves :o Unfortunately there just aren't enough riot trained police :'(
I hope Cobra grants the right to put the Army on the ground today as I'm sure the thugs won't be so hard with a squad of soldiers bearing down on them
-
To be honest the army should have been sent straight out...
-
Did anyone else see Theresa Kay's interview ruling out water Canon etc saying that they were working with communities for ways to stop the violence........
....she hasn't got a f-ing clue! What a joke of a Home Secretary. Water Canon, baton round and CS gas all backed up with snipers and plastic bullets. Sap their will to fight by hurting these bastards, if you have ever been hit by a plastic bullet you know what I mean.
-
the word respect to them is having a high credibility, the more crime they do the better they are respected, they are brain dead shitheads that dont fit into society, thats why the looted. too idle and too thick to get work that decided crime is there way of life, this was nothing to do with a protest it was organised crime at its worse. every police cell in london is full up and this wont stop as they get the pics online and get grassed up by anyone who knows them. :y
-
All those caught rioting should be sent to Helmand to help our boys n girls over there!
Send them ahead of all the patrols and use them to find IED's!!
Spineless b***ards >:(
-
I've nothing but HUGE respect for the Police Officers on duty with and without body armour .
I also watched the officers in Ealing standing waiting on the reported mob arriving clad in nothing more than short stab vests and short sleeved shirts. The trepidation on their faces was there for all to see.
Heroes. :y
Of course the other services personel deserve praise too but I believe that the procedure is for the Police to go in first ,disperse the mob and make safe the area for the Fire and Ambulance Brigades.
As for Theresa May , I was utterly embarresed at her lack of spirit in dealing with this anarchy . " we will work with the community to resolve this ".
Look around you Darlin' your world is crumbling , this is what you created by succumbing to the lawyers and " human rights wrongs campaigners who want to forgive everyone for everything.
Your wake up call Madam.........don't miss it !

poor excuse for a woman, not fit for purpose and should be sacked or resign

I agree that the army should be put on the ground and be instructed to use whatever force they feel is neccessary to deal with these in-bred, subhuman chav arse-wipes.
Whats the bloody point though.
Out in afghanistan they are not even allowed to shoot members of the Taliban they see planting IED'S.
They have to wait until the terroists shoot at them first and have also been told to take into account disturbing the locals :o :o :o :o
If the PC brigade have got our armed forces by the balls like that in a foreign country......can you imagine the restrictions that they would place on them back home in Blighty >:( >:( >:(
Tony Blair you smarmy C**T.
If there really is anything left of British Justice then you will be dragged out into the street, beaten to within an inch of your life and then have a rope placed around your neck and hung like the dirty rat that you are.
And seeing as it was your barrister wife who convinced you to sign up to the human rights act, you can take that ugly horrific sour faced old toilet monster with you.
opps the PC brigade and opps all of these rioters.
Give them all a bloody good hiding and then go around to the council estate shitholes that they live in and smash the place to bits.
See how they bloody like it. ;) ;) ;)

Send in the army and shoot to kill :y :y :y

So far I've had a Venezuelan and Nigerian at work (we hire a lot of skilled IT people from outside the UK specifically for language skills.. plus it seems hard to find reliable, skilled Brits who actually want to work!) discussing, quite emphatically, how they think we should have rolled out the water cannons etc and how disgusted they are with the people doing this..
The first (the Venezuelan) then apologised for trying to tell me how to run my country - sod that, I said, I agree entirely!

Indeed! As I say, I'm all for a bit of how they'd do it where he's from.. riot police, water cannons, rubber bullets and a few serious beatings.

'dangle berries' to water cannon, send in police armed with these (non-lethal riot guns):
100 coppers armed with those might give those thugs something to think about!

To be honest the army should have been sent straight out...
Nail on head - with rubber real bullets and water cannons at the very least. rather scumbags! >:( >:( >:(
-
And as if we needed proof this was nothing but (organised) thuggery:
This is the shocking moment a young man apparently hands over his clothes to thieves after being ordered to strip naked. Another picture which emerged overnight shows an unnamed woman completely naked next to a police officer after seemingly having her clothes taken from her. Elsewhere a bleeding boy is shown being assisted by a group of youths - who then rob him as they help him to his feet.

As I said somewhere last night... Watching the news made me ashamed to be British :-[ :-[ :'( :'(
Fortunately we live in a very quiet, rural part of the country and are highly unlikely to come under threat from any of this but I have many friends and family who live "in the thick of it", some of whom I am still unable to get in contact with :'(
-
Indeed - a large number of the folks I work with and consider friends live in parts of London (some posh like Richmond, some not like Croydon or Isleworth) and it's certainly a worrying time; as Akin was saying earlier - his wife usually walks to & from work in Croydon, which wasn't an option last night as the area descended into chaos.
Some interesting views from the international media, incidentally: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-14456635
The Russian quote particularly rings true, for me, as does the Egyptian blogger's comment (not that I agree the 'young man was murdered', but..)
-
How long before the first death? 12 hours? Then it will kick off.
Spanish neighbours aren't impressed with it all. Makes one ashamed to be British.
I think this is one tricky problem for Cameron to try and sort out. :o
-
TBH I think it's only scratching the surface of just how many thieving lowlife scumbags we've got in this country that only crawl out of the woodwork when they're mob handed. Me, I'd shoot the rather lot of them! >:(
-
Parliament to be recalled on Thursday.

Parliament to be recalled on Thursday.
Too late! This needs to be dealt with today. Grant any special powers needed and make some makeshift prisons >:(

Couldn't agree more, but Cameron (pr*t that he is) wants to play politics and make sure Labour is on board before he lifts a finger. ::) >:(

Water cannon ruled out by Home Secretary Theresa May.
WTF? >:( >:( >:(
-
The army hasn't got the time, manpower, resources or training to resolve this.
Too many years of liberal policies are to blame.
The looters should be shot on sight, I'd gladly do it. See how soon it stops then!
We need a return to proper conservatism and discipline.
-
Interesting view from a police blog:
We don’t need the army – we need the order to ‘charge’

Evidence of some degree of organisation behind the riots:

Time and resources I'd agree with.
Manpower they can get from the UK based soldiers, although not ideal.
Training... They have this but their approach will be a lot more "hands on" than the Police ;)

Somebody in authority needs to grow a pair pretty damn quick or we will be in real trouble. :(

Wrong David is hopeless, as is Theresa May
The Police have been stuffed by not being allowed to bang heads

This is what I was told by various people in the forces during the 80's
During the miners strike in the 80's, a hard core bunch of flying pickets was causing trouble for the boys in blue >:(
Basiclly, the coppers were taking a good kicking so Mrs T had a word with some lads from the Para's.
When they got intel of where this set of pickets was going to turn up, the Para's just happen to be on the front line ;)
The job was done and the Para's where spirited away in the back of a sherpa and the police line was replaced by bobbys :y
The hard core pickets never returned ;D ;D
-
Para's would like that :y

This is the kind of policing the Venezuelan guy at work was talking about - I think we need some of this:

In recent times we have in this country seen the normal family unit become much less commonplace, the breakdown of discipline and respect in schools, the breakdown of respect for authority - parents, teachers, police etc. The attitude to indulge children rather than shape them into civilised human beings.
This, Im afraid, is the result of those changes in our society.

Spot on the can't,won't say NO culture. I often say that I blame it on the parents. Sadly a lot of modern ills are exactly down to this parenting attitude right down to having the latest mobile phone upgrade, trainers and so on.
Round up these feral rats and put them in a holding facility and let the parents stump up a non refundable bail of 1000 pounds to get them out.
This debacle - that is the only word for it, is costing the country dear in terms of tourism and business costs. Come on COBR lets see what you have for tonight :'( :'(

These two pictures sum the whole thing up, for me:

Sorry, but I can't take any more of the BBC's coverage. It's so biased, it's no longer funny.
To some supposed behaviour professor from Moss Side:
"You've worked with many disadvantaged young people. Do you think plastic bullets are the answer?
GIVE ME STRENGTH!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

Trouble it, all news coverage is biased >:( I'm switching between them.
This has nothing to do with the shooting on Thursday, it is just an excuse so stop saying that's what caused it!
It's being coordinated by mobile technology so... Close all mobile cells down to Emergency calls only, shut down Twitter, arm the police and let them do their jobs.
Trouble is, all the officers being drafted in from elsewhere could leave other areas open to attack... Let the Army in to do some crowd control and use Water Cannons, tear gas, plastic bullets, anything to help!

On the bright side - its heartening to see that groups on twitter and facebook have been formed to help sort out the mess, and a lot of them have turned up this morning in affected areas with brooms/shovels/wheelbarrows etc. volunteering to help. :y
-
What hack me off is that law abiding people have to suffer and their civil liberties are affected. Take last night my local shops and social club were shut on advice of police. The tube station shut and high street a no go zone. The wrong people are made to suffer. I say army in and use whatever is needed. Oh and by the way if you dont like this country leave!!!
-

Photo in the link shows a women leaping from the burning building she lived in into the arms of rescuers.
This is attempted murder. It requires the strongest possible measures - now.
Theresa Mays "we dont do water cannons, we work with the community" statement is beyond ludicrous. The innocent majority in every affected community will be crying out for the authorities to do their job and take back control of the streets for law abiding people.

Then when they go to court dont give them a choice as the old west indian said this morning send them back home

I really think this started many years ago under the Phoney Blah reign and we are now reaping what he sowed, after all he preached it was ok to be a single parent who lived off the back of others, he preached the softly softly way of going about things, told us all it was wrong to chastise our children, was wrong to protect our own property and opened up the floodgates to sink our once proud Island, now we have the young generation, the ones growing up listening to his ramblings, going out thinking it is acceptable to loot, burn and terrorise communities.
Lets hope this government has the balls to round up these lowlife pieces of scum and take everything from them as they have done to others, their homes, their handouts and their freedom and god forbid the PC brigade who should ever say that the lowlife scum should have their human rights considered >:(
Rant over
-
I see it's all started off again in Birmingham, West Brom and Manchester.. they've set light to the Central Housing Office in Manchester.
Isn't that the place responsible for granting them all (I'm guessing here) their cheap Council housing? Y'know, the roof over their heads..
-
Just call a general curfew for all City centres. Anyone caught in the area after the curfew with be shot with rubber bullets & tear gas!

Went shopping to Ikea Wembley today. At about 2pm they kicked us all out and shut the shop as the rioting was starting in the Tesco's next door.
Went home and all the shops were closing, even the big ones like Wickes.
I live in the borough of Ealing.

As an utterly non-violent person and consummate coward, who has spent 65 years running away from the first signs of trouble as fast as my little legs will carry me, I'm a little bit surprised that so few of our gallant citizens are standing up to these kids. There's a lot of them, but, individually, they don't look all that fearsome to me.
I'm inclined to think that a few big blokes with big sticks could sort the whole thing out quite quickly, provided our friends in blue were looking the other way at the time.
Funnily enough, I was looking at pick-axe handles in B&Q last week. :)

Heard that our new Lord Mayor Peter Soulsby(pushed in by labour and oops I forget the Sir) is shittin his pants cos its started in Leicester now.....:D
First thing to go upo hopefully will be the so called Golden Mile ;)
Are we missing the point somehow? First we are told that we will feel the weight of the law if we 'hurt' anyone while protecting ourselves but then as usual the Police now want our help to stop them.....What so they can then have an easy collar on us for helping? Not me kiddo, I am old not daft :D
To save money and bring in a fast end to it bring in the Army, instill Martial Law and use live ammunition with accuracy! ;) Oh..and sack that fart of a woman who waffles about 'the difficult problems we face'. What the F is she doing in the job if she cannot do it?
Which brings me to a fine point.....How intelligent are the rioters when they all know how good technology is today and that they are being recorded on film with loads of them NOT wearing any face masks? Shows just how stupid they are... :D ;D ;D ;D
Is it true that the courts are already printing the punishment holiday brochures for them and the Royal Mint is doing overtime to ensure there is enough notes for their spending money? ::)
