Title: Telling it like it is...
Post by: Nickbat on 13 August 2011, 22:53:16
Anna Raccoon on that David Starkey piece on the BBc which has had Guardianistas reaching for the smelling salts.

Some white kids have adopted the trappings of Black Street Culture. Not Black Culture, just Black Street Culture "that glorification of violence and materialism acquired by brute force. From the music that depicts women as ‘hoes’ and bitches to be shared around, to the ‘bling’ jewellery and revelry in posing for pictures with fingers extended to imitate firing a gun; the street fashions for exposing your underpants; from the arrogant walk and sneering speech patterns identifying themselves with the gangsta culture of Jamaica – everything about that particular sub-species of inner city life, the Black Street Culture – is designed to cock a snook at the population which financially supports them in every way."

I think that Starkey is spot on in his analysis, and Anna Raccoon's blog post deserves a careful read. Not racist, just telling it like it is...

I saw his comments live, and thought there will be a mighty fuss kicked up about this over the weekend.
He was of course correct in what he said (he usually is) but that wont stop those whose minds are closed and who wont be argued with, from using lowest common denominator thinking and semi articulate lefty mantras from jumping all over him for it.
In a similar vein - Harriet Harpersons many utterances on the recent riots etc. have been nothing short of ludicrous. But she says it with conviction, and the brainless swallow it.

Just had a read through Nick & it all rings true. Da kidz tink dey is all street innit?

Why would you employ someone like that? they'd be a waste of your time, not worthy of thier pay & taling up a position a decent youngster might appreciate & work at.

It's hard to know what to do with them. They have no place in society.
