Once again, my eldest Bro was kind enough to take Mrs TheBoy and I on holiday to (very) sunny Cyprus. A nice family affair, 10 of us :y. Which is a reason I haven't been on much in the last week or so (still managed to burn through £35 of data though ::), not including using my brothers phone for data as well ::)).
The hire car I had was a Focus. My views on which are well known to regular members. My heart sank when the hire company told me, as I have a problem with them hitting things they shouldn't. I still maintain my 100% failure rate with damaging Escorts/Focus' ::)

In true Focus style, it was horrible to drive, flat, thristy (barely above 30mpg) and they have the world's worse aircon (we had a 1st generation Focus, exactly the same, you would have thought Fraud would have resolved it by now)
My bro had a Toyota Rush, not a car I was familiar with before. Weird in that it had no heater (not that we needed one!) or any way of selecting which vents to send air out of. Bizarre.
We stayed at http://www.jamesvillas.co.uk/cyprus/coral-bay/porto-kara-2365/

which was an ideal place to watch the sun sink into the see, and the moon rise over it...

Still, back to work tomorrow :(

I burnt 50 EUR of data in Portugal, Vodafone sent me a txt to remind me how much I was using, which I just ignored as Uncle Rupert was paying ::) ;D
Still looks like good trip (minus the Focus) :y

I left my works phone at home, as doing £30 a day on data would highlight the abuse, and give them enough of an excuse to make me redundant without a payout...

Never got any rules with mine, just that if I burn more than 1Gb a month, let them know.
I had a considerable 3 figure phone bill when I got back from Japan, did not even make it into the top 10 in my department :o

Did not realise you had been away ;D :P :P
Very nice place it looks, wonder if my sister will take us? I will ask see what responds I get ;D
Glad your back in one piece.
Oh, enjoy work tomorrow :P

At our place they are slowly sneeking 'rules' in. Easiest to leave in the drawer, switched off:
a) Not chance of falling foul, and being given the boot (yes, they don't do warnings at our place)
b) No chance of them getting hold of me ::)

That villa is for sale currently, has been for a few months apparently. Owner wants 'millions' for it, the stupid dreamer ;D

Not the ideal time to visit Egypt ;D
Want to do Cairo, as we did a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan a few years back. Mrs TB is fascinated with ancient Egypt.

Looks nice, glad you enjoyed it.
Never had a Focus but thought they drove well, even TG said so & they hate everything???

Owned one, driven a fair few. They are hopeless - yes, miles better than the Escort they replaced, but still hopeless.
Gutless engines, unpredictable, poor handling, shite brakes that soon fade when being enthusiastic. The older ones had nicer seats (newer ones have cheap, nasty, horrible seats). Uncomfortable, harsh ride. Very small rear passenger space, hatchbacks have unusably small boot. Lifeless steering.
Racking my brains trying to think of a good point about them,,,

Looking at the pics, it seems to have a wheel in each corner and as long as they went round.....then i guess you could say thats a good point ;D
Glad you had a nice time :)

Ah, yes, the wheels. Balanced by a Cypriot. Actually, thats a lie, as nobody had bothered balancing. The wobble at 100kph was amazing.

Ignoring clouting the bottom on a track, the damage this time was caused in a carpark we reckon. Couldn't have been when either me or Mum was driving, must have been someone swinging in or out of an adjacent parking space.
As to running out of talent, you've been speaking to my best mate Rik again ;D. He has far too much dirt on me ;D

Arse end of that Focus Saloon looks very Volvo :-X :-X ::) ::)

Man up. :P :D The year we went was the year after the tourist massacre. We had armed outriders everywhere we went.
Made me a tad homesick. ;D
The day in and around Cairo is unforgettable tbh. The Giza pyramids and the Sphinx and then the Cairo museum. I dont do museums but that one was really fascinating. Tuts treasure was in residence at the time, which made it all the better. :)

Indeed, I've been to Tel Aviv in August.. For someone not fond of hot places that was one unpleasant trip (at least every time I stepped out of somewhere airconditioned, or went out during daylight hours ;D)
Luckily they do all their partying between midnight & 4am, so it wasn't so bad then.. ;D ;D

I have been to some cities in south Turkish border which is 500 kilometers north (at least) to Tel aviv and at 12 am you can cook eggs under the sun on a metal plate within 2-3 minutes (without any fire) ;D

When I was in Turkey in August it was over 40 degrees and I couldnt imagine that anywhere could ever be hotter. Then I experienced standing at the Pyramids in Giza in August in the mid day sun. I thought I was going to die ! :o ;D
