Post by: Andy B on 16 August 2011, 17:11:20

But he denied that he was using the second phone to send a text message and claimed that he was reading a telephone number off  it to give to the person he was  talking to.

Oh, thats OK then!  Some people just don't have the brains they were born with.

Magistrates said they would have fined him £500 for the offences, but reduced the fine to £150 after hearing that he was on benefits.

So what, just give him a bit longer to pay it  >:(

I watched a programme on Monday night ,I think it was called " Coppers " ? anyway ,it was about Traffic Police in Cambs and it was a bit more harrowing than the normal police programmes.
In particular it showed the aftermath of a van running into the back of a caravan /people carrier which resulted in the deaths of two of the occupents .
There was film footage of the PC's going about their business at the scene and it showed the bodies clearly amongst the carnage .
The officer made a very worthy remark which was " people think being fined for using a mobile phone is a waste of police time and unnecessary but this is what it does...."
It made me think.
