Bloke across the road parked his toy outside yesterday so I took a snap of it. I was alerted to its movements by the sound of the carbs (webers by the sound of it) sucking/gulping/coughing and spitting in a way that injection never can.
I suspect Chrisgixer will also love it. :D ;D ;D

strange numberplate on the cortina, is it british

What a cracking motor - remember driving one years ago on windy A road (before 70 limit) and being followed by a police 3.8S who couldn't keep up. When I stopped they moaned about my speed (100+) and tail out style of driving although agreed it was all under control - think really they wanted a nose at the car. If I remember correctly the Reg nş was UM 1.

A proper Lotus Cortina. The MK2 was never lusted after as much as the original.

Mmm first car I ever drove on the motorway,
I was 16 the owner was in the back seat with a woman, ::)

Looks like there's a full cage inside the Cortina, too? Very nice, even I like that.
I mean, I'm not about to offer my house in exchange for it, like some people, but.. ;D

I used to have a 1500GT when I was young, the engine had been tweeked and a Lotus rev counter in it, would pull around 9000 revs iirc.....Paid £50 for it, needed the bottom of the front wing pulling out and a new 1/4 bumper and was as good as gold, loved it. sold it on after 18 months for £250... :y :y :y Think that was in or around 1979......... :)
