ok guys, i would like to see what do you think about this idea of mine...i kind of a market research...
my parents have a company which is in business of producing storage tents, greenhouses, carports and metal structures in general. Also we, work with ShrinkWrap. I work with them.
One of our products, on which we are focusing now, are car-ports. We developed a couple of modular, easy to DIY install carports.
Until now, we were focused on domestic market only, due to the nature of the business with storage tents and greenhouses (transport costs to other countries are too high).
On the other hand, our modular carports could be packed in cardboard boxes suitable for worldwide parcel shipping (like DHL, FedEX and like...), so the transport prices for that would be more than acceptable.
This are the carports:

Dimensions: length: 4,8m
width: 2,5...3,0m
Construction is from galvanised steel tubes, painted with Hammerite.
Cover is either ShrinkWrap foil or PVC tarpaulin. (will explain what is shrinkwrap if needed).
It can be widened for 2 or more car just by adding segments.
The prices start from 500€ + tax, which include construction for single car-port, shrinkwrap for cover, and all the bits and pieces needed for a diy assembly.
my question is: would you give this kind of money (+ transport fee) for this kind of a carport?

Aesthetically;
Very modern design, tubular steel and curved surfaces. Would probably only appeal to those who have modern architectural styling on their home. I know tooling is extremely expensive, but a more classic design in addition to these examples would be beneficial?
Practicality;
Your type of Car Port is suitable for open space. A lot of driveways in the UK are beside or in-front of the house. Maybe an additional design to incorporate a single legged (interchangeable left to right) model which would allow the un-legged side to be attached to a wall would, again, be beneficial.
Your designs are IMO aesthetically very nice, and I'm very sure there is a market for them! I wish you well! :y

they look good, price aint so bad either :y
however both designs look very susceptable to high winds taking them away? would be no good here in the winter!!!

Agreed O ,unless they were firmly anchored to the ground, I could see them lifting quite easily.

take a hell of an anchor to hold the size of them :y :y

sorry, forgot to mention...they are anchored to the ground (either concrete plugs or making a foundation...will explain tomorrow).
broomies mate: we also have a side-model, similar to the one on the second pic. One side has legs, while other is totally free. Very practical for driveways. Thanks for pointing that out! Will put pictures of that tomorrow.
One more thing: they can also be covered with lexan.
We also manufacture classical models (four legs and a roof), but they are not practical for transport in boxes. We also manufacture wooden marquees, like this

but of course, the transport :'( :'(

Nice modern designs at a decent price unfortunately, the monkeys on my housing estate would have a new play area :'(

How many can you get in a container and do you have a UK sales outlet
-
we don't have a outlet in UK, but we would like to find somebody who would try to distribute them in uk.

free wouldn't be possible.
but some kind of discount could be arranged.

One thing I like about having a carport is that it can keep my car far away from the harmful summer rays or winter snow.
-
carports work well in Euroland, you even get big covers for parking at supermarkets because of the sun.
But here in the UK we get about 3 hot days a year, the rest its just went and windy!
There is a market for these, offices & business owners are your main focus I think. I can't see this working for a lot of houses, because often a garage / driveway is in front of the houe and that would stand out.
