..... 10 years since '911' (which in English is 11th Sep ;))
On ITV is a programme - The Day That Changed the World about the terrorist attacks. It seems 5 minutes ago since I watched the telly dubstruck at what I was watching :-? :-? :-?

I had just finished a long days shooting at Bisley Ranges in Surrey and watched it unfold on telly with loads of other Police and military types. And a few short weeks after I and other leaders had taken 30 or so Scouts on a visit there.
Spooky, and don't time half fly.... :(

changed many peoples faith .. so many.. :(

Was at the top on 11th Aug. sat at home a month later watching in utter disbelief and shock at the unfolding horror.
I can still vivdly remember looking out of the windows from the top and shuddering at the thought of what it would be like to fall out.
Watching those poor souls falling / jumping a month later was beyond sickening.
I still think they should have rebuilt them, but a bit taller.

11 Sep is my birthday .. and that was my 50th ... I had booked a day off work to do little, and then a family meal out that evening.
Ended up glued to the box all day and we didn't go out that night .. just didn't seem right. :(

I must admit, at more that one point that day, I thought that this was going to be the 'end'.....
No way does it feel like 10 years ago, how time passes so quickly.... :o :o :o

Actually they are building several new towers, some of which will be taller than the old trade centre towers. I saw the construction site when I visited New York in Nov 2009, and they were making good progress.
I think there is a program on Discovery on Monday about the rebuild project. :y

yep,10 years have flew by.
im going on holiday on the 11th sept, and as i hate flying at any time i will be kaking myself that day- even though i know the chances of anything happening on that particular day are miniscule if not non existant...still it will be right there at the front of my thoughts! :-/
i wonder if the airlines find this day to be any quieter? do you think people would avoid it if possible?

Didn't to the towers that time as had done them on a couple of previous visits. Was only there for a day on a stopever on the way home - "we'll do them again next time" - little did we know ....

At the time it happened, I was doing some electrical work in a local bar.
I'd just sat down to a coffee and was watching the sky news pictures of the first plane to hit.
The comentator was talking about how this accident could happen ..................... then the second plane hit :o :o
Then my arse begain to twitch.
A friend of mine in the trade was touring the USA at the time of this.
He was in Florida at the time.
He was going to be flying up to New York that day but Jill ( his wife ) felt crap so they put it back for a day.
I remember 1 year after to the hour.
I was sat in the departure lounge at Larnica ( Cyprus ) on the way back home after a holiday.
I have never seen so many armed police walking around with very nervous looks on there faces.
You could have heard a pin drop on the flight home.
The world changed that day :(
