I have not had the opportunity to attend a cambelt meet, what does it entail, what do you have to arrange / find / organise in order to hold a meet?
Maybe I can help, I would certainly be interested in going.

well dependent on the time of year ie weather we might need somewhere under cover to carry out jobs.

the facilties available would also limit the jobs that could be carried out.
i.e power to run tools and lights should any jobs continue past the hours of daylight.

some where for the distance drivers to sleep. camping is a good idea as they can bring their other halfs if need be.
which also means a good supply of tea and coffee ;D ;D ;D
BBQ always goes down well and members could chip in for food, etc.
and LARGER must have LARGER (suplied by them selfs)

but the bigest thing is somewhere under cover... where house or farmers barn etc

(though why they service them I don't know .. its been scientifically proved that .. just like bumble bees ...  its impossible for them to fly ... plank wings rule  .. :)  )

yeah -- they keep moving those borders around !!!!!  Still -- close enough for a barbie sometime -- even if we can't scare up a workshop we can still have a few (non alcoholic  ::) ) beers and admire the miggys.

Marie --- any chance we could "borrow" a hangar for a while  ;D

Sounds like a challenge.  [smiley=evil.gif]

I suspect an MV6 won't get close - unless it's about 5 miles long and downhill? :'(

Could combine it with a visit to Haynes museum to explain how fictional their manual is.

Sounds perfect Marie  ;D Would love to give the car a nice straight stretch where I can "legally" see how fast it is willing to go.

A few years ago I was convinced by a mate in the bar at the gliding club to take the Westfield down the runway.

Off we went in pitch dark with "candle" headlights. Got up to about 125 before my eyes were watering and vibrating so much I couldn't see a damn thing (no sidescreens on it then, and I was used to driving it in the day with sunglasses on).

Anyway, stopped and discovered that we were only about 1/3rd of the way along the (1 mile) runway. :o

P'raps we could convince a friendly boy in blue to lend us his radar gun. One of the rare times you'd want one pointing in your direction !!!
