I have spoken to the Owner of the site we went to last year at Newent.
She has September 5th-6th (fri-sat) available as other weekends have already been booked up.
A pitch is £16 per night. A £10 deposit is required per pitch.
I will be collecting the cheques for our deposits, they must be payable to Mrs. G Davis. I can then keep in touch with the owner so she actually knows exactly how many people are coming.
The remainder of the money will need to be paid on arrival of the site.
Please PM me for my address.
Could you also put a slip of paper with your Forum name on in the envelope please so I know who has paid their deposit :y
Everyone who went to the "Newent Meet" last year enjoyed every minute so come on get your deposits sent :y
I am starting a list of people who want to come, but I am afraid if your deposit isn't here you may not get a pitch :(

Sadly we won't be able to make it (again) :'(. We're off to Jockular land blatting in the Westfield with 30 or 40 other kit cars that weekend. :D

The owner down at Newent is a really nice woman nothing like her up the Lakes. I am keeping her up to date on how many are coming to the meet so she can hopefully put us all together....

Scrubbed the trailer tent up, its got electricity going now, just need to do a little more work and we'll be ready to go lol.., need another mini meet (with a stop over) to do a trial run tho lol.
I keep reading hysterical posts (on camping forums) about what bare essentials people need .., don't worry altho I keep teasing Jue about the need to have enough sockets to run a hoover, microwave, hair dryer and any other mod con I can think of I will behave lolol.

I have been asked a couple of questions that I have asked the owner..
On the Friday we can turn up whenever we like, no certain time e.g No one allowed on site until 1pm
If you are wanting to have a few extra days at the site after the meet e.g Sunday, Monday nights that is not a problem and can be sorted when we get there.
But if you are wanting a few nights before the meet e.g Wednesday, Thursday nights you will need to get in touch with the site and book or I can do it for you :y

The dates for the Newent Meet are September 5th-6th (fri-sat).
If you want to stay longer that isn't a problem and can be sorted when you get there.
If you want to go a few days earlier that also isn't a problem as a few guys/gals are doing so but you will need to book this by either getting in touch with the site or I can do it for you.
There is not a particular time you have to arrive either
A pitch is £16 per night. A £10 deposit is required per pitch.
I will be collecting the cheques for our deposits (please PM me for my address) they must be payable to Mrs. G Davis
I can then keep in touch with the owner so she actually knows exactly how many people are coming.
The remainder of the money will need to be paid on arrival of the site.
Could you also put a slip of paper with your Forum name on in the envelope please so I know who has paid their deposit
Everyone who went to the "Newent Meet" last year enjoyed every minute so come on get your deposits sent

I seem to recall us tenters sharing leccy last year due to not that many available hookups. Not issue sharing with tents, as at most its used for coolers, possibly chargers.
Not sure about pikeys, seem to remember hardstanding areas for them, which presumably have tizzy available...

If there is a lack of hookups, I'm happy to run an extn lead from another tent, if the owner allows, as only need for charging lights/phone/laptop etc

My wife won't be going as the eldest is due to give birth around that time.

We are still not sure at the moment if we can make it.... If we do it may be with our family tent and we won't need electricity... It'll be a last minute thing for us I'm affraid..... It was really good last year though, shall really miss it if we can't.... :'(

Mrs TheBoy gets lost leaving the house, so won't go anywhere without 'bird' - her trusty old ipaq. If we're in the tractor, she'll be in trouble as no bird holder, and she'll never get it set up bluetooth. I could teach her to use the Carin unit, but life is too short ;D

I'm off the day before we go so intend to make Moussaka and bread pudding to bring with us (thats if the kids keep away from the Moussaka and Martin stays away from the bread pudding, lol) Maybe I'll make one just for him, that should ensure ours is safe eh Martin ;) :)

Bought the mince today, will get them made up tomorrow and frozen (makes it easier to stay fresh for the drive down), can't see an issue with them being frozen for a week before munching :)

Honestly guys, please don't worry about it as I don't pay for it. The BBQ officially belongs to my company but I store it for them in my garage, so I thought it only fair they paid for a new bottle of gas and they did. Got a new 15kg bottle for the Lakes meet so there's plenty left. :y

I've bought a pack of 15 eggs..., thats all so far, was looking at the bumper packs of bacon but left it til tomorrow to buy most of what we'll need lol.
No idea what food to bring really unfortunately.., first time camping (yes, do have a fridge box thing) but reckon with the holes our trailer tent probably still has in it, we won't need a fridge box at all, lol. Told Jue whatever else happens we are getting some patches tomorrow - just in case I missed somat. Still gotta get a gas bottle too lol.

I've just said innocently (is there ever such a thing to Jue) well, we could go tomorrow night lol.
I've bought a pack of 15 eggs..., thats all so far, was looking at the bumper packs of bacon but left it til tomorrow to buy most of what we'll need lol.
No idea what food to bring really unfortunately.., first time camping (yes, do have a fridge box thing) but reckon with the holes our trailer tent probably still has in it, we won't need a fridge box at all, lol. Told Jue whatever else happens we are getting some patches tomorrow - just in case I missed somat. Still gotta get a gas bottle too lol.
If you use gas bottles CP250...and dont have time to get one, dont worry Ive just bought 12 off em.......so will 1 or two spare ;D ;)

Well 4 more days to go to the meet. I will be there on Thursday as well so see you there Bill. Be glad to see some of you all again as the last time was as the cambelt party in Telford at the start of this year. I will be bringing my camcorder with me so plenty of catching people off guard. ;D ;D
Also will have the laptop with me as well.

Todays plan was to give the car and caravan a clean ready for the weekend , I have now decide to adandon the idea its been raining here all bloody day so far , the sun just about manages to try to come out so bucket in hand I go outside and it thens starts to rain again , so it can stay dirty now :y

Found out yesterday that I've been freed up for the weekend, so I am able to make Newent. P.m'd Daz last night and just got a pitch by the skin of my teeth :o. Been making some homemade burgers this afternoon including Mexican style and pork and apple. So see you all there tomorrow :) :) :) :y

lol, we were trying to finish sorting the tent out this afternoon but had same problem as above.., everytime we went out it started raining again by the time we'd left the back gate and reached the tent. Now got the OOF badge problems to sort out so we are gonna be lucky to turn up with the tent right now.., let alone food lol. Reckon there'll be a quick mad dash to the supermarket on the way. No doubt I won't be allowed to forget the kids unfortunately.., but I bet I forget something lol. Can't forget Jue cause he's driving!

Power is no problem as there is electric points to hook up to.
The weather is rubbish as it is still raining here in not so sunny Newent.
Hot cups of tea if needed and help with erections putting up tents. Shelter if you don't want to put up while its raining but I think the rain is here to stay for a while.
