The TV in the kitchen has just blown up :(
Now as some of you may know, I have a C&G in TV repair, so fixing it shouldn't be too difficult if I can get a circuit diagram.
But, could I be bothered? We had previously discussed replacing it for an LCD anyway, but have struggled to find one.
Anyone know of one meeting following requirements?
LCD widescreen, around 17" - 20"
Integrated freeview tuner
Integrated DVD player
Not Sony
Integrated MCE extender would be ideal, but know this is rare as rocking horse poo
PC input (VGA or DVI) would be a plus point.

I can't say about the 'Integrated MCE extender' as I haven't a clue what one is, but we were looking for what you want for our caravan and it appears that the only TV (that we could find) that is - flat wide screen, digital & DVD is this one (http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=381764)
Obviously you can buy it else where but Currys is dearer! :-?

Look for the artical about standards SA uses DVB-T just like the UK

Avoid Naiko like the plague. THey use a special 'clever' chip in the backlight inverter, that monitors all kinds of stuff, like current, volts etc. Now as the tubes age, the characteristics change, and the chip says 'oh fault, must shut down', and its a nightmare to get them restarted. Quite a few faulty ones appear on fleebay.

no dvb-t tuner or internal dvd (why?) but scart, dvi-d, vga, svhs, composite and a co-ax input. I've got my pc, topfield freeview box, dvd all permanently connected. Bloody good quality picture too, especially for the price now >:( hope this is useful mate? :y
