I have booked this site up again http://www.dalebottomfarm.co.uk/contact.htm for Friday 8th & Saturday 9th of July. This is the Forum's 5th Birthday so will be a Great Kness Up! ;)
Please Only Book Up through me, as it causes to much confusion some trying to book up through the site when most have booked through me.
I am collecting a £10 cheque deposit which needs to be made Payable to Mrs. E. Kitching and dated 8th July 2011, the difference I will collect on the Meet Weekend when people have pitched up their tents/caravans (exactly the same as at Newent).
Also if you could put a note letting me know your Forum & Proper name so I know who is who :y
If you are wanting to go, please PM me for my address details so you can send me your Deposit. As soon as I recieve your Deposit I will make a Confirmed List to which you will be added.
For anyone wanting to use the Static Caravans they are £60 per night (if there is four of you, you still pay £60) please get in touch with me as these will be on the first come first served basis. I can only book up for the weekend for Statics about 2 months before the Meet, as anyone booking for a week will take preference.
I have booked 20 Camping pitches to start with more can be booked if needed
Prices per Night:
£7 per Adult
£4 per Child under 15yrs
Under 5 yrs are Free
Dogs are Free, also welcome but must be kept on a lead.
£2 Electric Hook Up
£2 per Car
I have mentioned that we mess with cars, but will not be getting oil etc everywhere, which is fine.

You wouldn't need to bring an 18 x 24,squeeze them into a 12 x 12 or a 9 x 9 ;D

It'll happen... We should be going but need to wait a couple of weeks before making the decision as I'm awaiting some medical tests :'(

Our Lilo is going she is 12, Mike Dundee's girls will go 6 & 10years old I think, there will be others going too :y
She will enjoy it the Girls were trying to catch fish last year with a Pint Pot ;D ;D ;D ;D

I will have Miss Vamps with me, age 11 at the time of the meet, she is trying to talk me into bringing a friends of hers, similar age.... ::) ::) I am not to sure :-/ :-/ guess it depends on if I get a Static - separate bedrooms so fine..... :y :y

It's not just the mole holes that represent a trip hazard at OOF meets Captain. it's also all those bloody guy ropes that people stick everywhere, (ask Bob Dent) and absolutely nothing to do with the copious amounts of strong lager consumed ::) :)

Did I read earlier that the statics wouldn't be able to be confirmed until the week before, due to priority going to people who wanted them for a week, not just a weekend?

At long last I have managed to get through to the Site to ask about the Statics.
I have booked two which are the only ones at the minute available which are £65 per night for the Caravan. I have notified the two people at the top of the list who asked first for a Static.
I have asked if we can have one more to give me the first refusal which they say I need to phone two weeks before we actually go for the Meet.

I aim to be there mid afternoon, as will pick Mrs TB up from work at midday. Depends on how bad the motorways around Birmingham are, and what the M6 is like until you clear Preston-ish (then it tends to ease out)

We always slow people down as you pass Birmingham, don't want too much noise fom the Motorway!! ::)
No seriously they are using the 'hard shoulder' as an extra lane when it's too busy and by all accounts it has helped......
You could always pay to use the toll road, it's never busy on there!!! ;D ;D ::)

Trouble with Toll road, for me, is suffering the M42, which is usually every bit as buggered as the M6 was before the improvements. And, yes, I reckon the Toll road owners are miffed that they have now fixed the old M6, as it does flow much better now ;D

The last few weekends I've been travelling from Gloucester to Glasgow and leaving around 1200-1230 on friday and it has been taking me an extra 2 hours to get home as the traffic from Birmingham to around Preston has been stop, start, stop all the way!!

Probably best to bring/buy for yourself rather than relying on someone to bring the rolls for you then they forget or fail to appear....

That said, I generally bring a stick of haggis or two for the pre requisite communal fry up on Saturday/Sunday morning. Have also been known to bring smokies and kippers, just to be a bit different... ;D

IIRC the Statics are in a different field to the tents. :-/

That's what I thought, looking at the same picture! Think I'll give the ale idea a miss for this one then and bring some to Newent. That looks too far to be walking staggering for a refill!

The statics are litterally as far as the adult pitch at Newent to where we would all get together for the barbie..... Which is less that a minutes walk. Anyone using a tent has to walk passed the statics to get to the loo and showers. :y

The one I have in mind settles in the pub in about 6 hours as long as it's done right ;)
Other option is cans of Adnams as he's got a load left from an outside bar he did last weekend :-/ They would probably make more sense and take a 9 to Newent as we'll be there for about 9 days ;)

I beg to differ. The "torque" went down rather nicely with me. :y
You can normally get either "bright" or "sedimented" beer by the polypin / cask. Bright is put in the container pretty much as it comes out of the pump, so doesn't need a great deal of time to settle. It's probably drinkable pretty much immediately although may be a little cloudy until it's had a couple of hours to sit. The downside is that it only remains drinkable for a couple of days.
Sedimented beer is what goes into the casks that the pubs take. It contains yeast and should still be undergoing its' secondary fermentation. This keeps the beer more lively as you have a source of CO2 stopping it going flat. Once set up to serve, it needs to stand for 24-48 hours, preferably more, before being drinkable to allow the yeast to settle to the bottom. The advantage is that it is drinkable for probably a week or two.
Given that it's not likely to touch the sides on arrival, bright would probably be most appropriate for a meet. For best results seek out a local brewery and get a polypin of bright on arrival perhaps?

Sadly, a lot of the beers in most pubs these days are 'bright' as it means they cna leave the lines longer between cleaning, its more convenient for serving and can be C02 pressurised to push it through the lines.
As a tip of the cask conditioned stuff, if its still abit cloudy......bottle of tonic water in it. It wont affect the taste but it clears in double quick time (an old trick that one) :y

Not sure for camping, I contacted the 'Great One' who suggested I checked re availability of the statics that he had booked, which I did.........maybe check with him, I doubt it would be a problem though...... :y
