Title: Can you replace.....
Post by: STMO123 on 11 June 2007, 21:29:08
....the cannister type oil filter with paper element for a 'normal' screw on filter? Saw a 2000 W CDX in kwik fit today, same as mine, but his had the screw on type.

Cheers. Steve.

Yes you can, you have to remove the filter housing and fit the lug required for the spin on filter....

Not something I would advise though as it rings alarm bells with those who know anything about the these cars if the wong type is fitted as it sudgests an earlier engine has been fitted at some time.

yes you can - but you already know that now.

Ive converted the Vectra v6 from cannister to normal filter.

Theres a small bolt / screw that can be bought from vx for around a fiver to do this.

I only did it cos i had to dremel the cannister off  ;D
