Title: Drove the Astra around all day yesterday.
Post by: Auto Addict on 17 June 2009, 07:18:33
1.8 Auto, very impressed, smooth auto box, very nippy and a bit more economical than the miggy.

Did notice though, if you press the sports button, when in 4th (display on dash telling you which gear you are in), it changes it down to 2nd.

Is this right?

It should change it down to whichever gear it can without over reving it......so if you had been going faster in 4th, it would have only changed it down to 3rd (if that makes sense)  :y

SWMBO has one of the new Astra Twin-tops. It also has the 1.8 engine which does appear to be surprisingly perky. It has the manual gearbox but I've noticed that when she drives it she gets just over 40mpg yet when I take it out for a spin I only get around 36mpg.   ::)

I reckon it must have a gender sensor fitted somewhere  :-[
