Hi all.
Can anyone help. Just got the wife a 1.0 corsa 3Cyl, 12V jobbie. ;D the car has never seen a service for god knows how many years. so sorted that out. had to change rokker gasket and use a spachtel to get the oil slime off. cleaned all the breathers and so on. the only prob I have is when you push the accelerator pedal it takes about 10 - 15 seconds to accelorate.
can anyone tell me what I could look for to solve this problem. :-/
Thanks
Dave.

Worth checking plugs, air filter and changing fuel filter anyway.
Whilst its not going to win any races, its a surprisingly sprightly little motor, even if it does sound like a sewing machine

I have changed the plugs, air & oil filters and oil. still need to change the fuel filter.
The car is great for that what my wife drives and she likes it.
just this accelerator prob thats bugging me.

i think it needs another piston ::) ::) ::)

Unplug the MAF and retry
-
could be the throttle body all gunked up, and taking time to break free

Not unknown on the 1.0 and 1.2 but, normaly results in stalling.
Lack of response is often the MAF, unplugging it will drop it onto a default MAP and prove a point (without live data)

Bloody expensive from Vx (153+vat trade club - 90543282)
Alternatives are Bosch (who supply Vx!):

Unfortunately I can't remember who I bought my MAF insert from for my diseasl Astra, but it only lasted a few months before I had EGR problems again. Another, new slightly more expensive, complete flow meter has been on the last couple of years with no problems.
