Hi there im painting my rear archs in the next day or two and painting them with a can.How many layers will i have to put one as its metallic
-
ive found it depends on what colour, mine is polar sea blue & recommended primer is grey, it takes a fair few coats to cover properly whereas silver with grey primer will cover with less coats, but i believe they recommend 4 coats as the norm, i think that is as clear as mud but you get my drift ;)

Till you get a nice even colour.Normally you just dust the base on,and blast on the laquer.

And don't be disappointed when the laguar that went on like liquid glass now looks like a frosty pond....when it's dried, and I mean DRIED, then plenty of elbow grease/cutting compound (used with care, I might add!) to bring up the shine.
I actually used Brasso on a door mirror and it's perfect-o. :)
Just done a rear arch myself, and apparently putting it on too thick makes it darker >:( information that would have been more use to me BEFORE i stated the job!! Be careful with the basecoat, nice and gentle dusting coats, like the wise man says above [smiley=smiley_up.gif]
Other than that go for it, its dead easy, just relax into it.
