My clever Girl Friend Detective that she is worked out why I have massive Blisters all over the backs of my hands and on my arms.
She worked out at it was Giant Hog Weed plant that has caused it that i cut down on saturday
Turns out by what the internet said and the doc at the hospital if you get the sap on you its not to bad but if you get the sap on you and then expose it to sun light thats when it blisters badly 48 hours later which it did. by i got a shock when i woke up in the morning.
Worst case is it can take upto 1 to 7 years to clear up GULP :o :o and cause demititus and blindness if it gets in the eyes
Its not nice the blisters weeps all the time and if i use a pin to get the liquid out it fills back up in no time at all.
So Just a Warning Dont Go Near Giant Hog Weed plants its a total pain in the backside Nasty Nasty Stuff

We used to have loads of hog weed growing in fields near us when I was a kid. absolutly sh*t my self when we found that we had wandered into a field full of the stuff wearing short trousers( waiting for the posts to say what the plants had shorts on :P ) fortunatly we had been briefed by the headmaster at school about it and we very carfully made our way out of the field. Nasty stuff >:(I know a couple of people that have been effected by it and although not always the case the scares can last for years :(

I've never heard of it before Craig but I hope you recover sooner rather than later.
Here's a pic based on Tony's description to cheer you up :y

LOL ;D ;D
Lucky for me i knew it was bad stuff and i was being careful I thought it was only bad if you touched the plant but its not its if the sap gets on you but just by cutting it with long cutters it sprayed the sap on my hands i never even knew i had the sap on my hands. if it had not been a suny day i would of been fine as it turns the area sprayed photosensitive to UV light which causes the burns and blisters 48 hours later.
I will be staying well away from that stuff in future

Will have to tell Mrs. DaveL, SHMBO, does all the gardening. Me i put a spade in the ground and the bl**dy thing would die. ;D ;D ;D
The plant looks very similar to what i used to know in my younger days as 'cow parsley' or 'keck'. Could not be the same though as we used to break the stem off and use the piece as a pea shooter. :o :o

I had a similar, but not quite as drastic, experience cutting down some conifers once, I got small blisters on my arms that itched like mad. Cleared up after about a week.
Hope yours clear up soon.

Thanks Everyone It really Kind Of you all
There are two kinds of this plant a native one cow parsley nowhere near as bad and then Giant Hog Weed introduced back in 1893 Silly Sod Who introduced this into the country.
Just been looking at the other gardens around mine and there are some even big monsters growing one i have seen is about 12 foot tall.
Going to pop around to their houses and warn them about it.
Atleast I get acouple of days off work But I cant Do any Work On My omega Boooooo
Thanks again Everyone
