My brother has just brought a 1997 dse, it has the 6 cylinder bmw engine and someone said some omegas have them, anyway the problem is it take about 30 seconds to start when hot or cold, its had new glow plugs but we are lost now so any help would be good thanks :y

oh oh!!! common fault on rangies mate, there is a mod with a relay that you can do to allow you to switch the glow plugs on when the car is hot this puts more fuel in and cures the problem
-
its the same when cold, was told to try injector leak off pipes and a one way valve from block to filter
-
aha you didnt say that!! you just said when hot!!!
these actually suffer from a similar problem to thr omega with the intank fuel pump!! how much fuel is in the tank if its under 20 litres then it could be the pump!but i agree change the leak off pipes first

says hot and cold mate, think thats what the one way valve does (stops it going back)

that will teach me to read posts properly then!!! there isnt a antidrain back valve fitted as the leccy pump primes it when its been stood!! you replaced the leak off pipes yet?
-
yeah done leak offs and put one way valve in, i now think its a glow plug relay
