Whatever you use, an old cotton t-shirt attatched over any head I find is still the best thing. It's so soft and works wonders. Old t-shirts are underrated!

ive never like polishing mops when waxin they create to much dust i only use the buffer for heavy polishing compound and then waxing by hand far better results at the end try gettin 3m finnesse it its really good at removing light scratching(ie petrol station car washes) use that with a buffer and a soft black pad then hand polish it after dont let the paintwork get too hot tho cos it will burn thro to the primer

During heavy polishing , if the buffer is not unused I apply some water (not completely) to make the material a bit softer..
after heavy polishing I also apply very fine grained paste material with a much softer buffer to clean some buffer traces..
I finish the application by hand with a mixture of very small amount of very fine grained paste and colored protector.. :y

oops easier than I thought, sorry :y

the finesse it is a fine cutting compound and it doesnt seem to dry out as much as other compounds do with the heat build up which is i prefer it because if you use water it goes every where and you have to wash and dry the car before waxing it

Depends on what mop heads you use. Lambswool are good all rounders. The doubles are coarser & for getting deep scratches out & restoring colour. These are also reversible & work well with a G3 compound. The singles are velcro fit to your plate & finer for a real shine. Work well with a fastrack Farecla polish for lighter work. These polishes & more are availiable from body shop suppliers.
This is a vague guide. Any polish can be used with any head depending on the polisher head speed but this should help get you started. Guy. :y

forgot to add always use the lowest rpm not to burn the paint and for better results.. in high rpms controlling the machine becomes harder and you will spend too much energy..
