Title: Thinking of buying
Post by: STMO123 on 19 August 2006, 20:54:27
I know this should probably be posted in the ebay section but I am SERIOUSLY thinking of trading mine for this and would appreciate all the help I can get. You more experienced buyers.......does the advert stack up OK?

Thanks

Hmmm personally i wouldnt - maybe unfair to seller as his feedback is very good.

Its due another service £100 anyway - its got no Radio so your probably looking at £2200 if you attend to these - oh and obviously its police spec so no carbon look, roof spoliler, rear electic windows etc.

Not only is it ex police there are some good ones but have you read hotel 21`s post  inthe welcome section ( he is current police and personally wouldnt buy an ex police car) Its also got a towbar - what has it been towing.

Just an opinion but a real spc MV6 can be had if you shop carefully.....buyer beware!

Nice car but looks a lot of money to me.

I would NOT buy this myself. My humble opinion, but I think it is very expensive for what it is - a thrashed, trashed hooligan taxi. Nope, not for me.

Tis a guaranteed good car that one, nearly bought it a few weeks ago....

The history
boozy_nights's old car from vxon, ask him about it.
he got rid cos he (well his wife,) needed something bigger.
sold on ebay for 1300
bought by a 'sarahs_angels' I think who kept it about a month
not at that funny looking dealer who sells more busses than anything!

here are some 'old links' to it
search on boozy's posts to see its problems.
Ive spoke to him since he sold it so he would have no need to alter truths about it.
off top of memory 1 heated seat doesnt work, 1 rear seat doesnt match.

previous sales of this car...

Waaaaayyyyy too much money for what it is!

Part of the reason why it has not sold for many weeks (been on ebay for ages).

2k will buy a MUCH better car than that.

Thanks, guys.(esp you Jimbob [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]). Once again, you have saved my bacon. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

EDIT: I hope the omega sellers on ebay realise that their cars have to pass an inspection by nearly 200 people.(Some of whom even know what their talking about!)

So, the current owner paid £1300 four weeks ago, and now wants upward of £2000?
Nice work if you can get it! ::)

No probs,
Teased the previous owner a bit asking 'awkward' questions ;)
not advertising xpc etc, bit naughty.
Got fed up in the end and said 'best if I just see the car to see if it fits my needs'
didn't bother though, cos could see they didnt want to budge on price.
If I could have quickly found a buyer for my mazda I would have probably had it at the original £1300.

I can't get at all my pm's from vxon to tell you more sorry cos my old id 'kind of' got banned for pm'ing anyone who started a topic like 'new omega owner needs help'  ;).....guess someone didnt like the help I suggested.

So thats decided - your not buying that over priced mv6  ;)

That is one of the benefits of the forum, keep looking and keep asking opinions on here...you wil get better - perhaps even for less :)

All the best
Mark

Way to much money.

You have to consider that I bought a 98 White Ex plod Estate in slightly worse condition (failed oil cooler) and much lower mileage with new suspension, exhaust, tyres etc for £425......

Well, it didn't sell again!

I wonder if they will drop the price before re-listing again

Some people are not... how shall we say... possessed with the greatest of business acumen!. ::)

It's not worth 2 grand, not even remotely close.

The market is confirming this...

Yet still he persists.

Some people you simply cannot reason with...

As per PM....

It was sold privatly on VxON for £1,400

New MOT was put on and put on eBay for £1,800 - Did't sell (duh)

It then appeared again, listed by another seller for £2,000

Please do not touch this car.... its barley worth half the amount shown....

To be fair to the seller is a nice bloke, a car dealer and takes part ex. I should know he wanted £3000 for my Elite which was on Ebay so being local I went to see it and when I turned up in my Range Rover LSE (quite rare) being an ex farmer he made a mess in his pants and asked if i wanted to do a deal. Knowing I had added about a ton of metal for the last MOT and that the next MOT would be as bad and that the previous owner had bodged an engine rebuild I was happy to talk but when he asked for my car and £500 I was tempted but held out and got a straight swap. Considering I would have taken £1500 cash for the Range Rover I was quite happy [smiley=thumbsup.gif].
