Title: Seat Toledo 1999 20V 1.8 with ABS
Post by: vauxsky on 18 August 2009, 22:42:48
I dont know if anyone can help here, could be a general problem on all types of car with ABS, my wifes car required new rear calipers which I changed.

I decided to bleed my brakes, could'nt find my simple bleeding kit so I borrowed my brothers fancy pressureised one. You fill a secondary bottle with brake fluid, remove reservoir cap and use the one connected to secondary bottle. Then connect the secondary bottle via a spare tyre at 20PSi.

Proceeded to bleed all the brakes, seem to work great, all the air bubbles came out. Went to take car for a run and no brakes, they went streight to the floor. Funny thing, when engine is off the brakes are hard as rock.

Can someone explain what I have done, and how to correct this, I am concerned about the Hydraulic pump/ABS/Master Cylinder ?
