Title: 2yrs ago...
Post by: TheBoy on 31 August 2009, 22:19:53
I was looking for a photo for JamesV6CDX about engine removal, which got me rereading the Project TB2 threads - the 6 month saga of fixing my old Tractor.

What I can't believe is that the end of the saga was almost 2yrs ago now :o

Can't believe it was that long ago :o

True.  I am far to familiar to the 2.5TD lump for comfort

i friggin hate the Omega manual box, its horrid.  But the diesel is much better suited to a manual imho, esp as if I had another, I would be 'playing' to see what we realy could get from a tractor lump (or most likely watch it self destruct when I overcook the boost ::))

well you liked my manual box? however on the subject of boost can say mine ran at 2.6bar for about a couple hundred miles but the running temp was just a bit to high for my likeing, so i wound it down a bit :( as wheelspin on dry roads was no fun either ;D but when the wastegate caught up with it the engine felt dead!!! ::)

No, I didn't 'like' your manual box, but will concede the 2.5TD and manual box is a good combination.

I will also concede me was having some fun in your car ::), I quite enjoyed that little blast :y

We miss not having a spare car on driveway, particularly as I still need to rip the head off the Rover again when she doesn't need it for a couple of weeks ::)
