I'll throw another iron in the fire...

Accelera Alpha's - Directional, grippy enough for some "Enthusiastic" driving, wear well and not particularly noisy. I'd have them again :y :y

Falken FK452s - about £70/corner fitted on blackcircles IIRC - terrific tyre, certainly the best for the money IMHO.

I used to have them fitted all round but won't have them on the front anymore. I found the wear rate high and caused too much tramlining, but that could be because I have use slightly wider 235/40/17 tyres. Now use Bridgstone Potenza SO2's on the front which are so much better but I think they've now been discontinued and replaced by SO3's.

I've got Dunlop SP3000 235 45 17 's on my Elite. Have to say that ride is ok but thy're not the quietest tyre I've had.If you're after quiet ,they wouldn't be my choice. Anybody else have these?

I've used these people before and they are very good but they will charge you extra for balancing ::)

Falkens do tramline badly, also bad reports on a BMW E39, but they are very very quiet ime, if you do fit them make sure they are 452s  not the 912s which seem totally devoid of any directional stability, front AND back. Havings said that 452 is the softer compound i think, so probably not suitable to the op.

I've got Pirelli P6000s on the front and Kumhos on the rear and they seem OK to me, grip and noise wise :y.
