Title: Any thoughts on this car....
Post by: Markie on 16 June 2007, 17:01:46

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260129204926&rd=1&rd=1

Contemplating it for Mrs Markie. Full cambelt and tensioners changed at 82000k ad documented in book and invoices.

Ive been pinging an email or two back with the seller and so far so good.

Anyone know the seller or have any thoughts on the car?

YES. DON'T

Laidback has an identical car that he is about to sell. It is stunning inside and out and has had everything including oil cooler.

I agree, I've seen Dave's car in the Flesh, and I have driven it. A truly stunning car.

Reading through the add and other vehicles for sale as well as his feedback, I get the impression he buys damaged, not always recorded, then repairs and resells.  No harm in that, just means you have to look at the car a little closer to ensure its been done properly.      ;)

I agree - looking at it again - also slightly out of alignment on passenger side rear light cover....thats off the watch list.

mine is a 2000 year CD spec facelift and it only came with the standard single CD player, my dads 2001 facelift is also CD and only came with standard single CD.

Was always an optional extra for the multichanger  :y

For the same money (buy it now price) you can buy mine... and that is a straight car with the work done!

Not if its been a write off.

Beware of sellers. My new corsa has a very suspect service history. Just waiting for owner details back from DVLA and then I will deal with this. Does matter to me. I will do the cambelt next week and have the wishbones here. Drop links done. Also rear wheel bearing changed. I am doing the other 3 too.

Believe me, my car was cheap, but if I find out (as I suspect) the dealer forged this service book, I will get the car MUCH cheaper.
