Tighten your wheel nuts so tight. I havent had to take the wheels off since having new tyres fitted until this morning. I had to use all my might and a very long extender bar with my bloodvessals almost busting, to get the bolts out. I turned it 180 deg and it was still tight. Why do they do that?

Because there Idiots, they call themselves profis all they are is monkeys,
I've also had the same problem.

What do they use to tighten them up with?

I thought they are supposed to nip them with the airgun and then go around and torque them up afterwards with a wrench. I should imagine most just rag them up with the airgun and leave it at that. :-/
-
Some use there foot others use the windy gun.

for a truck yes, a car no windy gun.

Thats how they are supposed to be done but, they rag them up with the impact wrench and then put the torque wrench on which, not surprisingly, goes click without turning the bolt/nut

Any tighter and I would of had to take it back for them to undo.

I had to, I bent one wheel brace and snaped another, [smiley=angry.gif] [smiley=angry.gif]
I didntalf give the prat that did it a mouthfull. Had to restrain myself from using him as a wheel brace

Next time I go, i'll try and undo them before I leave the garage.

In the dim & distant past ..... long long before OOF was set up, there is/was a Yahoo Omega's group of which Dr Omega is a major player (.... although signed on here he rarely puts his 2 pen'orth in :-/) Dr O is the service manager at Lookers & knows his Vauxhalls back to front, inside out etc :y :y etc

Nuts on the wifes fiesta were put on so tight the threads stripped out when I took them off, went round with a major cob on and made them supply replacements >:(

That wouldn't have been good in the outside lane of the motorway >:( >:( >:(

Just got the same thing with mine. First thing I did was to use my wheel wrench on the nuts, the socket cracked straight down the side >:(
I have just got a spiffing new reversable 60-300Nm torgue wrench so I thought I would just see how hard these nuts are.
100 *click*
200 *click*
300 HHHHNNNNGGGG *click*
Can't shift them so I shall drop this in my local garage and see what they can do. The downside for them is that I am going to check the wheel nuts when they give it back. Torgue it up properly did you? *click* ...... get it back on the ramp! :y
-
they should use a proper torque socket on the airgun which is set to about half the rating of what most manufactures recomend, then as said should be done with a torque wrench to the correct setting
-
Mate of mine had a run in with a tyre and exhaust center place, and they glued his dust caps on the new tyres!! >:(
