There is a button next to the auto gearbox stick(left hand side) with what looks like a snow drop on it, what does it do/whats it for :)
-
Snow mode, I believe it starts off in 3rd gear. It's so the wheels don't spin when driving on snow. I've never had occasion to use it, and I've had manuals before my current two auto Omega's so can't confirm.
-
It's snow mode, it locks the gearbox into a higher gear for extra traction in the snow.

cheers peeps,
needless to say i wont be pressing it, i cant wait for some rear wheel action in the snow, round abouts are entertaining in the wet :y

Bet you might press it when you are starting off on an uphill slope on snow/ice and end up going backwards!

as H says, bet you do press it when needed, its not great but does help. ;)

But don't forget that it it's used for too long the gearbox oil will heat up and the ECU will switch it off.........
-
can also be used, along with sport mode, to shake the car out of its over reving from cold mode to warm the cats up. I lik :)e to press it briefly now and then, just to make sure it sill works...

I had problems last year getting over a bridge in York.
I had TC on and had it in ice mode - Just span the wheels and went backwards down the hill.
Turned ICE mode off, same again, just span - went backwards another few feet.
Turned TC off, ICE mode off, and a foot full - she slowly fishtaled all the way up the bridge ;D :D ;D
