Title: Omega 2.0 4 pot LPG Gas Kit Anyone (eGay).
Post by: zirk on 05 November 2009, 11:28:47
Nothing to do with me, but thought I would post the link as these dont come up very often.

Might help someone to take the plunge and convert thier 4 pot.

It's a mixer system, so not as good as a proper SGI setup although 4 pots do seem to run acceptably on a mixer.

Also bear in mind it looks quite old so the kit might not meet current standards and the cracked valve cover on the tank would need replacing.

As Kevin said... IMO it would have to be sub £100ish (including the collection costs) to be worthwhile... Even then I'd only use the tank ::) ::)

Point taken Chap's, reading the wording on the item, sounds like the Guy just wants shot of it, might be worth someone making some beer tokens as an offer, or it may go at the £1 starting price, you never know on ebay.

As for the single point / mixer type yea, know what you mean to a degree I do have a BM 318i with a mixer on it but it actually suprised me how well it works.

I'm trying to see if the multivalve on that tank has a solenoid on it. I don't think it has, which means the gas supply can only manually be switched off at the tank. I think the current COP requires a solenoid valve at the tank, so possibly a new multivalve required.

Tanks need pressure testing once they reach a certain age too (10 years? or 5? can't remember).

Thanks Kevin.
My installation is progressing, a spiders web of wire under the bonnet, and its raining to boot. The fun of 2nd hand kits is that some wires change colour with time, so what is orange at the ECU plug is now brown at the other end. Totally confusing !.
