Title: VW Passat Diesel whats it worth V-reg?
Post by: Del Boy on 29 November 2009, 10:25:41
Guy the mrs works with has a black VW Passat TDi Sport, 89000 miles, FVWSH, new brakes all round, 6 disk changer, it's black very very clean hard to find a mark on it to be honest. Anyway he's a polish guy and he wants me to sell it, I was thinking around the £2300 mark?

Any idea's?

VW's seem to command silly money (compared to Omegas) which is why I bought another Omega 3 months ago.

Spend some time searching Autotrader to see what people are asking. Spend a bit more time and you might see what price they are selling for....

Thats way too low even for a tatty lower specced model, they hold money for some reason. Prices seem to be around the £2000 - £3500 marks so 2500 would be fair and accept 2300 I'd say  :)

That is over 10 years old, only an idiot would pay over £1000 for an ordinary saloon car of that age.

Then the idiots laugh back when you spend silly money correcting common faults, while all they do is a basic service year after year because german cars just work  ;D

Only thing that is not German, is the badge

I would agree with you but
1. the Omega is a German car
2. VAG cars have just as many irritating/stupid/comical design flaws as the Omega. (for example their 2.4 V6 has a self destructing water pump driven by the cam belt.)
