To all those with a 3ltr elite auto, what 0-60mph times have you got and whats your top end speed?
would still be interested in other omegas?
-
This may be more suited for General Chat.
0-60 in approx 8 seconds, 3.0 Elite Auto.
Top speed 70mph. ::)
-
Your a funny guy ;)
-
0 - 60 in 7.7, no idea top speed. I would suggest that the book 149 isn't far off. Whatever, must more than we can safely use in our roads....
MV6 auto.

My 2.6 is 0-60 7.8 top speed I think will be around 140 but I haven't tried it
-
mine is 0-60 about 8.5-9(its an estate) top end is definitely double what the legal is,seems to hit a limiter at 130ish though, but not in sport it just keeps going, until i ran out of bottle...oh and runway :y
-
had mine up to 125, but not an elite :y, then had to slow down cause a van pulled out into fast lane hitting a hill, had to pull into middle lane, was lucky no cars where in the middle lane, never seen the astra turbo after that 8-)
-
I have had double the motorway limit out of mine, not necessarily in this country...
-
Cant really do a 0-60 in mine as i don't have a mid :-/ Did try it once with Timbuk2 running along side the car with a stopwatch but she fell over after we got to 15 mph and refused to try it again ::)

rumour has it the 3.0`s will show 155mph on clock.....ive had mine around 135mph.
-
Well high speeds had the 600cc bike up over 2x limit, did have a 3 figure sum on Vascar though :( :( (17 years ago)
A Carlton 2.0 red line in top (not mine), my Sunbeam 1200rpm into red line in top with a 3.54 axle (while another car went past at 140!!!!).
Omegas not taken any to speed
-
never measured 0/60 but top speed had it at 155 still 1000 rpm to go !!!! slightly modded mv6 auto :y

I do believe AA broke his all time speed record last Friday on the way to the Lakes. Recorded an unbelievable 52.36 MPH ( with witnesses ) :o Guess which lane of the M6 he was in ::)

:oI've no idea how fast mine goes as it's limited to 56mph & is'nt allowed in the outside lane.
0-56mph is one gearchange & a big grin!!! ;D ;D ;D

Gah! This reminds me. I had an AP22 in my boot at the Lakes. Could have done some 0-60 measurements. Then again there wasn't a runway available to do them on (not a flat one, at any rate)

I think Jaime tried it in the field next door when we went for the photo shot........
Going to take a LONG time to get the buttercups and clover out of the top of the rear suspension housing!! ;D ;D ;D

Maybe i have a faulty stopwatch on the dash but my 0-60 was 7.5secs, but deffo had 154 on the top speed and i reckon if i had the bottle it would of done more! ;)

Can get 0-60 in 13 seconds from my Elite 3.0l auto, that bloody caravan holds me back..
Lets talk, torque there is loads of torque from this engine, down to the multirams I'm sure. My previous car was a Granada Cosworth 24v, it towed really well, just a 4 speed box with no adaptive gearing, but, an LSD, kick it down and go on the big banks coming from Cornwall.. When we had the Omega, I was totally gob smacked at just how much more noticeable torque it has, obviuosly down to gearing as well. But, what a great all round tool the Omega is ! Take 5 fatties to the seaside, fill the boot with butties and a football, get off the lights really rapid, dead economical, "If driven normally!" and get back home relaxed after driving a sumptious rocketship..... Affordable parts and easily accesible too! So there!!
:) :) :) DC :) :) :)

I was towing my track car back from combe last weekend when met with some fool in the first lane doing a hole 40/ish mph checked mirrors nothing coming so pulled out foot down and diddnt even notice the trailer on the back.So when i went to pull back in i was (how can i put this) i bit over the towing speed limit and a long way of the car i had to over take.
She pulls like a good un.

You would think i would notice that this was on the back.

I was towing a car on my trailer a wee while ago and did the "Forgot it was there" thing, until I looked in the mirror and noticed some clown up my tailpipe!!
-
Figures for my 2.5
0-60 8.3 secs top speed 152 mph maybe could have squeezed a little more but not a lot of road left.
-
My 2.5 gets to 60 in 10.5 - :(
Not tried the top end yet but when I go to germany later this year (posted - woohoo!) I will be sure to try it out on the autobahn :D I did manage 125 a couple of months ago after some fool tried to ram me off the road, following my efforts to stop him queue jumping on the M5/M6 junc, so I had to get out of the way (typical medic - run!) then Mrs G went spastic on me..... ::)
-
I'm not talking about speed today :( ::)

0-60 in about 8-8.5 seconds, top speed never tried......
I will say that the Omega does cruise very nicely and i have been know to make cover long distances in a short space of time :y
best going would have been from the natural uk home of the miggy back to plymouth in 2.5 hours :o
-
I get a consistant 0-60 of 7.7sec out of the MV6...and no idea what the top speed is,
used to get 8.7sec out of the 2.5 manual & 8.9sec with the 2.5 auto.
My days of 'how fast can it go' were short lived - got a clean licence, would be sods law to get nicked at some silly speed.
-
My MV6 can see 60 in................ :-?
(Dammit, it's not mine any more!! >:( )
Erm, I never drove my old MV6 that hard! No, not me, no, never!!! :-[
-
I'm not talking about speed today :( ::)
Tomorrow then????? ;D
Not tested mine, was waiting to get cambelt & tensioners done & not got round to it since.....

Is it a 3.2? If so that's the quickest Omega available being a manual variant, should be dropping into the 6s on the 0-60 time as mine can do it low 7s (could probably get it below 7 if I gave the clutch some serious abuse!)
I reckon mine will max out the speedo seeing that it's a 3.0 manual civilian model with the standard speedo inaccuracy. Real speed about 155 or close to it? Incidentally that's the standard Vmax of the 840Ci without the limiter removed, but it'll get there much quicker.
