I hate to agree with you Daz, but..............so did I.
Every V6 is a multi-valve V6, not just the MV6.
-
True, but then again it was never entered in any motorsport events either so break knows.

I thought it was because it sounded cool

I thought it was just a cool name for a poverty spec model. Runs and hides quickly ;D ;D

I thought it stood for Motorsport, so just Googled it, top answer came up as Catera Owners accross the pond, so looked at the same question on that thread and the answer from them was......
....best to go the the OmegaOwners.com.

An MV6 is a 'go-faster' model ..... does it matter whether it stands for owt? :-? ;) ;) ;) ;)

All the 6 cylinders would be MV6 if that were the case

This reminds of the debate we had many years ago in the Rover SD1 Club, what "SD1" stood for :)

Shouldn't it be SDi ::) ::) ::) ::)
runs quickly for the door!!!!

Special something 1

Just sounds cool i guess. Lower & firmer than other Migs so slightly better handling but no faster out of the box.
Who said low spec? Digi climate as standard. Ok no satnav on mini facelifts but i don't use it myself, i can read a map. My MV6 has been fitted with cruise control, bose, full recaro leather (won't see that on an Elite). I'm still waiting for a privacy rear blind & shelf in black & the heated recaros only go up & down........but i'd leave you in my dust on the twisties....
& i have the best wheels a Mig can ever have, along with a spare set! 8-)

And I thought you had the easily buckled Irmscher twin spoke preface lift alloys? ::) ::)
Did you change them for the 17" facelift Elite alloys like mine then? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D :y :y :y

The general consensus is that Opel (Opel released MV6 long before Vauxhall) called it Motorsport V6

Quite right Opel did release the MV6 2-3 years before vauxhall coined the name, and it was motorsport vairiant 6 cylinder as used in german and italian race series

Whatever it stands for, Opel used it as the equivalent to Vauxhall's Elite
